Thank you both.. actually made me well up a little. Everything continues to be a huge challenge at the minute and words like that help.

I'm massively proud of my achievements and I cannot wait for uni to be done for the year so I can jump fully into finishing the workshop and garden.

Life can be hard, hectic and full of stress Cav and it's not nice to live like that, which I know as I've spent a lengthy period where it made me unwell.

You ve achieved alot and don't under estimate that achievement you should be proud of yourself. Hopefully when Uni work load drops off things will improve.

Not a whole lot to add from previous but I've gotten myself a 2nd shelving unit to try and keep things organised until I make my own workbench and cabinets.

The two T-shaped bits of metal infront of the shelves in the corner are storage for my spare wheels FYI - I nearly installed them today but realise that would be stupid as I need to insulate and ply the walls

Question for you all... should I keep my leathers in the house or in the workshop? I'm unaware of how leather behaves in the cold

I've kept the vast majority of my kit in the house. Some older spare kit is in an old wardrobe in the garage but not much.

I suppose it depends on whether you like getting dressed inside a garage or inside a house??

Let them air out in the garage then move them inside afterwards. Spray them with Febreeze

My main thought of storing it in the workshop is purely to keep it out of the Fiancé's way inside the house...

My main concern was the cold causing the leather to crack or something!? Didn't know if that was a thing.

As for getting changed.. I'd happily get changed out the front of my house on my drive - it doesn't bother me!

Probably a good idea with the airing out with febreeze though !! Nice touch

Nah.....leather is pretty good in the cold....leave it out in freezing temps & it may be cool or even cold to the touch, but it won't freeze the way pleather does.

Fwiw I have found that my floor and wall space is always at a premium (never enough space...)
The ceiling however is often unused.
So I mount my spare wheels up there, out of the way & safe.:

Looking at that, is that a metal ceiling rose?! Doesn't look strong enough to me haha.. I'd be petrified !!

I do like that though and it wouldn't be difficult for me to put mine on the ceiling, the only difficulty might be headroom as my hair touches my ceiling lights

Not sure I’d keep leathers in an unheated building, I’d be concerned about mould or mildew developing on them, probably better off in the house where it’s warm and aired.

20mm conduit Cav. It will take my weight easily, so an alloy wheel with discs & tyre presents no issue. Obviously I've used decent sized screws to secure them.

You'd want to place them at the highest level, obviously. Don't know if you're planning to underdraw the rafters or leave them open.? -Eitherway at this stage you could simply buy some M12 (or whatever) threaded rod, cut & bend into an L section so that the long length can hang down long enough to put your wheel on & the short end through a hole high in the rafter section & retained by a bolt. ( that may also alleviate some of your concerns regarding your dubious screwing skills.? ) When not in use they could then be pivoted up out of the way.

Cav personally I think I would keep my gear inside your workshop. It keeps everything together and organised. I prefer it like that rather than bits and pieves everywhere!! Also keeps it out of the way inside the home. Wouldn't want to waste space inside.....plus my misses wouldn't allow me to keep it inside she would say 'you've got an entire place to yourself...so use it!!' But each to their own lol

There's a few updates for different threads so I just decided to chuck it all into here...

All my parts arrived and the majority have been fitted: This is the cleanest oil I've ever removed from a bike! I think these spark plugs have been in the bike for around 15,000 miles and done all but one or two of my trackdays.. they are the standard CR9E plugs, not iridium and I've never had a misfire FINALLY... it lives again!!

The oil and the plugs look pretty good

I forgot to say, plugs 3 and 4 were loose and I think that air might have been leaking in as plug 3 was white on the side.

That oil had done 6 days on track and a couple of thousand miles, I was pleasantly surprised by it.
