It was more the riding and Country that I liked.

I never quite get the appeal of a guided tour, surely half the fun is finding places yourself?

Off-road riding is a different beast in my experience Duke. Finding your way on a seal road you are pretty confident conditions are reasonably consistent. Off-road someone showing you the way can be the difference between great views, trails and stops and a crap day trying the get somewhere that looked good on a map but I reality is turd.

Also guided tours give you a support for breakdowns and crashes.

The only down side I’ve found on the few I’ve done is you travel at the speed of the slowest in the group. I’ve done over a decade of off road riding and sometimes the pace can be frustratingly slow.
