I'm probably being greedy but I need (not really need, but you know, it's a bike, so want) a third bike.

It needs to be on the sporty side. I'm probably looking at a naked but I won't rule out a fully faired bike. It's just for dry day ride outs and maybe the odd track day.

765RS is looking strong. I really enjoyed the test ride despite the rain and the 765R Cookie has got is a cracking bit of kit. You can get nearly new ones for good prices now.

MV 800 Brutale RR is up there but MV reliability problems make me a bit cautious. New ones do come with a 3 year warranty though, they look stunning and the sound is special.

Speed Triple - not out of the running but I think the 765 is better value for money

Possible maybes include another zx6r. My ownership history isn't great but I do really like them. I do keep going back to the new model fireblade in black with red trim. 675 Daytona for the triple win, although they're a bit common on here

I'm in no rush to buy so any more suggestions gratefully received.

For me it would be a 765 or Daytona R.

Just my opinion..

ZX6R - don't buy the new one. it's purely an emissions update. You know how great the 09-12 is but my personal favourite is the 13+. Better looking IMO and a very strong engine more suited to the road.

765RS - it's the bike I want for the road. I think it will have enough torque to be a little lazy but you'll still have to work it to get a proper shift on.

Speed?? - too heavy and not much more powerful than the 765RS. Wouldn't be an option to me.

I like the MVs a LOT! If it's a third bike you could afford to have something a little more special such as an MV or Ducati

Cav - that's pretty much my thinking about all of them.

Rolling an MV F800 RC out of the garage on a Sunday morning was a dream I had last night.

Have you had a ride on the duke 790? I thought a bike so basic looking wouldn't be that much fun but it was a hoot.

The 765 would probably be my personal choice though, need to arrange a test in the spring.

I've not tried the 790. I could sort out a test ride. My main gripe is that it doesn't grab me looks wise. I was hoping for a sexy looking 790R.

Whats the budget?

I ve not ridden one but reckon the 765RS will be fantastic and I m made up with my D675 so happy to suggest that.

That 848 is gorgeous. I bet it sounds just as good as well with those Terrys on it.

My problem is that I've not ridden a Ducati sportsbike for about 10 years now. I have no idea if I like them.

Budget wise I've got £10k. I can finance the rest if I need to. Or I can buy a bike for £8k and have £2k to spend on bling.

Grab a test ride. Something different to own and special for a sunny day thrash

A manager in another division of the company I work in has an 848 Street fighter which has so few miles on it I feel bad for the bike!

If that's a bike you're interested in I'll ask him about it.

He mostly rides his Harley Fatboy or whatever it's called

KTM Superduke?

The latest Speed Triple RS gets some cracking reviews. It proved to be quicker round Donington than the Street in Michael Rutter’s hands and I notice that Fast Bikes has it quicker round a kart track than either the Superduke or Tuono.

Still think that 1050 engine is probably the best road bike engine out there that I have ridden to date.
