I'm mixed about the fact they're ending it. They need to, so they don't step on the toes of the Batman origin stories, but I've really enjoyed the way they've shown the dark side of Gotham and the way that's enabled the villains to be the centrepiece of Batman.
When I was a kid I always preferred DC over Marvel because DC made the villains seem like prop-anti heroes and frequently have their heroes walk a line close to villainy. Marvel treat villains like something they need to make the heroes look good.
