New Ignition switch

Since some dickhead decided to reverse into my baby, one of the items damaged was the ignition switch.

I have a new one on order, but I believe the new switch/key needs to be "matched" to the ECU.

I have TuneECU and cable etc. - can I do the matching using it?

That's crap news mate.

Unfortunately I would have thought that you will need to contact Triumph to get keys re-paired with the bike. Having the ability to quickly pair a new key in would kind of make the security pointless.

I don't think the Daytona has a coded key. I got a cheap non triumph copy cut when I snapped a key and it works fine.

I agree with DaytonaAndy. I had a new key cut for my 675, and it was a plain blank from the Triumph dealer.
It has not transponder chip in it & does not need matching electronically in any way.
There is an option where you can have your datatool alarm fob (if you have one) attached to the key blade rather than rattling round on the keyring. That is the only relation to matching the key to the bike that I can think of.

The new Mk2 (2013 onwards) 675 apparently does have a encoded key that matches the ECU.
Not before time IMHO.

What StM said Casper, I think its a straight swap for a new lock, however watch out for the thief- proof screws holding the lock assembly on, the new lock should come with them supplied, the heads snap off at the correct torque when you fit them, so obviously the old ones will be difficult to remove.

I believe most of the new Triumph bikes have coded keys now (not just the sports), but yeah around 2012 and earlier are just blank keys.

P.s. - it doesn't match the main ECU, but hass it's own immboliser ECU.
