Amazing how at least 800 people can die in a disaster yet it barely registers in the news.

Based on population, it is the 4th largest country in the world - that's HUGE....and yet it barely makes a dent in The West's collective consciousness.
It also consists of over 17,000 islands (WTF!!??), so I'd expect the preliminary death toll to rise a lot over the next few days & weeks.

And irony is clearly lost on some people...

Kwackster is right. 1000 people dead in a foreign country is a statistic. 1 person dead in your neighborhood is a tragedy.

St Marks is taking the piss.

Anyone who thinks I'm a racist hasn't been paying attention.

White people stealing in your area ? Blame people called Ahmed.

Obviously they would not have done the crime, if he had not been allowed into the Country.

Listening to the Tory party conference gives **** like these credence.

Well Indo is our neighbour down here and it’s made the news plenty. Thought racism is more that alive here as well and I’m waiting for the ‘well that’s 800 less boat people we have to worry about’
