Approx £2000 for 3 of us for ferry and Glamping. This is the TT part fully paid off apsrt from consumables eg food, water, fuel etc. Its an expensive trip but going to be well worth it

Now I need to get my head into gear and look at hotels for Scotland! Just think Premier Inns along the way

Its the going rate really really. Could of done it a bit cheaper if I had booked it all by myself but it was harder than I thought to be honest so went through a company.

Got 5 days on the island so should be a bit quieter by the end of it which should be nice to have a thrash on the mountain!

Agree that's what you have to pay to be fair.

It will be worth it Rossgo, will be a trip you will remember for a long time.

I would recommend looking at Booking.com (or similar) as another option to you Premier Inns, you can book some really good deals, I use a lot when staying away, you can get some cracking B&B for very little money and decent breakfast thrown in.

Ok so quick update I have now found hotels, a hostel and also a private home to rent on Air BnB site for our Scotland part of the trip. It took a long time trying to sort out places. I messaged one bloke with a LOVELY home on Air BnB which the site came up with which was within my search area just north of the border. Messaged him saying it was a lovely home and looks like a great location, and brilliant price (between 4 of us dead cheap) he messaged back saying he wasn't north of the border and it was in the lake district!!

Anyway settled on

Premiere Inn for the first night just north of Liverpool.
Rented house thriugh Air BnB on the second night near Loch Maben
A hostel in fort William the third night (The Wild Goose Hostel)
A Hotel on the 4th night (The Lovat Hotel in Perth)
And 5th night will be staying in the Premiere Inn just outside of Skipton

I feel a whole weight off my shoulders now!

Got a quick question for you all though. I know a fair few of you guys have been on tours in Europe and UK etc.

I tend to be away for up to 3 nights on the bike then go home. But this time it's 10 days away. I know i want to travel light but also do want fresh clothes as it could be piping hot do sweaty leathers, stinky undies and wet tops. I do want the evenings in fresh tops. There's a rent home on route which has a washing m/C which I guess all 4 of us will be making the most of!

I have a Kriega 10lt (which is a great piece of kit!) But I've just picked up a 30lt. Making it into 40 lts tail pack. It looks huge and alot bigger than my Oxford 40lt t.pack which surprises me.

I am going to do a dry run of what i want to take and see if it all fits in or if it is in deed far too big

My idea is 30lt (clothes, electricals etc etc) and the 10lt is the day pack (waterproofs, portable charger, spare gloves extra)

I'm going to post a list of things I'm thinking of taking and wonder whether you guys could help me out.

Too much?
Too little?
Just right for what i want?
Have I missed something?

You guys get the picture lol

x10  t shirts
Shorts (3/4 lengths)
Shorts thin (chilling evenings/ mornings )
Jeans
x1 hoodie
x10 socks
x10 boxers
Spare waterproof gloves
Water proofs (1 piece)
Trainers
Leathers
Boots
Gloves
Puncture repair kit

Wash kit

Tooth paste
Tooth brush
Shower gel
Shaver
Microfiber towel
Plasters
x4 washing tablets for washing machine at rented home

Electrics

x1 plug socket (phone)
x1 portable charger
x1 ear plugs
x1 sat nav

Inside bum bag

Small wallet
Phone
Keys
Spare clear visor with Pinlock
Visor cleaner and microfiber cloth

Map (hardcopy of the routes!)

Any help welcome!

Cheers fellas

No point taking 10 of things if you've got use of a washing machine.

Wear each t shirt twice and reduce your t shirt load by half.

Wear proper base layers and they will resist the sweaty niff. Take two tops and two leggings.

Make sure you will use everything you take. You don't need anything extra.

I used to take my crappiest socks and trolleys and bin them as I went along, even some shitty old t shirts for wearing when riding then bin’em as well.

This. Everytime I go away for work or hols all my old kit gets binned after wearing,

Ride using an undersuit, you can wash them in the shower daily if needed, (I have), and they dry really quickly normally.

Sorry realised I didn't put that down in the lost. Yes defo will be using undersuits.

Bringing me onto that, I have used old Chinese shipped undersuits, which have done fine but I'd like something a little better now I think, after about 5 years of use they prob had their day now. What is everyone using/ recommendations etc? I know you can go out and buy crazy expensive ones but I dont think I'd pay that sort of price. Anyone know of any decent ones for a reasonable price summer versions?

As for washing M/C we only have access too 1 at the private house and that's on our 6th day of riding. We then get another one on the 7th so guess we prob wont be ready to use it again if we all do it at the house. But i see what you guys mean, I will take a little less on that. But underwear is a no go, I need fresh!!

This. You’re away with the boys on bikes, you’re not turning up to date your future wife. I used to pack like that list and never got utlilised.
