I don't think I want a headset. I like being shut off from the world when I'm riding. It's one of the reasons why I do it.

I tried an autocom for a while, it worked really well with music and a walkie talkie.. But after one long motorway ride I realised that I was listening more to the music than I was concentrating on the riding.... That was the point it got taken out..

I tried a bike to bike radio once, my Brother being a Bike Instructor had access to the ones he used at work, so we borrowed them for our annual NEC bike trip, apart from the pain of it sticking in my ear for hours at a time, I found it useful about 1% of the time, the rest of the time we ended up rabbiting about the traffic around us. Afterwards we realised it sounded exactly like the R/T chatter from WW2 pilots, except it was inane rubbish instead of life saving advice. It also made me realise I enjoy the solitude biking gives me, even on motorway miles.

I hate having things stuck into my ear I have tried to ride with music and it's just not the same and I find it off putting more than anything else.

Im another one who like to be able to hear the engine and exhaust while tearing up the road!
