2015 Euro Track Date

So who fancies starting off the 2015 biking season with a few days overseas on track?

I've got the green light from Mrs Kwacky.

I've sent an email to BBS who have just emailed to say they will probably be running Almeria next April. They will confirm in a few weeks. They will release the date officially in October. There are other companies as well. BBS seems to be less about the commercial approach and more about the event. I've heard good things about them.

If we get 40 riders then they will do an event just for us. That might be a tall order for a brand new site with 80+ members but if people spread the word on places like track day riders (I'm not a member on there so if someone could do that?) then we could get the numbers.

So at this stage who is interested? It's not a commitment. You've got until October to decide for sure.

Sounds like a great idea just hope I'm available.

BBS run a cracking event, open pit lane is a lot more relaxed than running in groups IMO. had a great time in cartagena with them last year, me and Frankie are off to Almeria with them in a couple of weeks.

As this will be my 40th birthday present to myself, I've already got a green light from Mrs Nutz so I'm in.

My only considerations will be cost and the package. I'm firmly in the track novice group, so would need to ensure there is provision for novices. I would also have a preference to a package where there are instructors / coaches at the circuit as there are some elements of my riding I want to work on, such as body position..

I'd also be quite interested to get opinions from the guys who have done euro track days before as to which circuits and companies they prefer, and obviously why.

I'll see if I can get some more information from Gary at BBS. I'm at work where they've recently blocked Gmail so it's a bit hard for me to reply to him until I get home.

I did almeria with focussed events open pit lane for two days it was suitable for all rider abilitys. You get more than enough track time and its a big enough track that it feels uncrowded. The organisers were very strict about the track rules but also friendly and relaxed, there was free instruction over the two days and a video company who did some cracking track footage. All in all a great experience

How great that would be to have the track purely to Tankslap.

I'd love to I'm just not in a financial position to commit yet, even that far in advance (missus not working at the moment)

It's riding a bike on a race track. It doesn't need any more justification than that :D

I'm interested, but some thoughts:

Have to be BBS? They are expensive and may put some people off.

Only 2 days. Seems a shame to go to all that trouble and not stay for longer.

2days open pit lane is enough IMHO,the 2nd day at Almeria was an empty track in the afternoon
Ps I'm interested in going

No, it doesn't have to be BBS. That's a suggestion based on recommendations from people who have been and a mate who used to work for them.

Pop up as many suggestions as people like. It's early doors, we won't be booking for months yet.
