can you provide some evidence of this please .
Look back over Europe before the likes of Italy and Germany became Nations.
Yugoslavia
Ireland.
I’m not saying don’t have Nations, I’m saying don’t have a physical border that requires permits to cross.
From April next year Scotland has its own income tax and Wales the year after. You can still have Nations and nationality but no physical border.
Europe pre Italy and Germany was a general melee of smaller states conflicts and wars were almost the normal state of affairs.
Europe post Italy and Germany has seen the Franco-Prussian war, WW1, WW2 and the cold war as well as the Spanish civil war and the conflict in Bosnia , I don't see what point you are making here .
I believe that Yugoslavia was formed in the 1920's , was split by the Nazi's during WW2 , reformed under Tito post WW2 and then dissolved into the Bosnian conflict in the 90's which caused genocide and the intervention of UN security forces . A nation was formed from a bunch of independent states dissolved their internal borders and eventually engaged in genocide before returning to a bunch of independent states . Again I fail to see the point you are making .
Ireland , I presume you are talking about the North South Border, it is still in existence , it's Eire on one side and the UK on the other , it may not be actively enforced but it still exists .
Scotland and Wales are not Nations , they were conquered by the English in the 17th and 11th centuries respectively and have not been granted sovereignty since .
I think it is very reductivist to say that the abolition of borders would be a simple answer to a very complex question .
