looking at the black lines the moto2 bikes are leaving on corner exit I wouldn't think there was anything wrong with the torque of that motor .

The R version is. It does have different mapping to the RS. The RS has the same torque as the R, just higher in the rev range.

The RS must be the best value new bike out there at the moment.

The R is very flexible. Not as torquey as the RC8 but not many things are! Twisties are fine in 2nd, 3rd or 4th depending on mood. I've not had any thoughts in terms of it's not pulling hard enough on the road thats for sure.

Is that on stock suspension?

I find the 675 lacks a midrange. It's good at the top end but falls short below 8k, but maybe that's as it's a supersport and the str765 is more road orientated.

Definitely the 765RS... probably the best road bike you can take to the track and for a pint of milk

The RS is the 1299S to the standard 1299.. better brakes and suspension but also a little more poke

No its the same brakes and suspension on the 2016 R and 2018 RS Cav

The rs over the old r has 10ps more power. And 105 engine mods. Does seem to spin up faster. It has a chassis ccu which has banking traction control and abs. The suspension has had work so that it is less harsh on the road. Tft screen. Keyless ignition.

I imagine the engine is nicer but would be surprised if its night and day and the MY16 has good reviews for the rbw throttle connection.

Tbh I read the NIX30 forks and TTX36 shock were identical but bow to your superior insider knowledge if the journos are inaccurate in their statements.

TFT would be very nice, but more a nice to have imo than an essential and I don't really like keyless, its fixing (if you can call it that) a problem that doesn't actual exsist

If cost was no object it would be an RS every day, but if the RS is 5% better than the R I cant justify the huge gulf in price.

I've seen tidy MY16 with low miles (4009) for £7400 which is nearly £6000 cheaper than a new RS

Can't deny that being a very significant factor

IiRC MCT are not very complimentry about the Ohlins on the Speed Triple.
