Great bike but falls well short of the beautiful timeless classic 916 Duke has posted 8) which I can't see being ever beaten for looks or desirability (allhail)

Fwiw I utterly loved the 916 when it was released (and it's 748 little sister).
However IMO it's started to look,,,, wrong? -or perhaps too chunky & angular ??
Maybe I'm just being blinded by my own personal bias, but I honestly feel that I now prefer the looks of our (older version) D675. (blush).

I think I actually prefer the Panigirly to the 916 now. 8)

I'm with StMarks on this one. Whilst the older bikes do have that classic look and take me back to my childhood, and are arguably more iconic, the newer ones look far sexier IMHO.

And yes, I am short sighted!

A decent 916/748/996/998 in the flesh is till a thing of beauty.

Its a proper racebike with lights added which you can see as you remove the bodywork.

But then i am biased too. :D

Here is mine when the engine change was part way through.

Ducati make some absolutely stunning motorcycles (rock)

Their simply gorgerous like a beautiful Italian Super model strutting the cat walk (h)

But I still dream about riding the hot old milf from next door too (happy)

Some bikes - and only a handful that I can think of, hit the styling bullseye absolutely dead centre, those bikes look will still look good decades later and are the ones young lads had as posters on their bedroom walls, simply because they are so jaw droppingly beautiful.

Out of that very small group I would say the 916 is still the best looking and most iconic, the Daytona 675 is second, the Kawasaki Z1 third and the Ducati 900SS fourth.

They all for me stand the test of time from a looks point of view, I know others will have a different list - the MV750 and original R1 are drop dead gorgeous as is the RS250 and the RC30 but just from a looks angle that's my take on it.

P.S. Sorry for wandering off topic a bit, but if we are talking 916 vs 675.... (blush)

I love the 900ss. It's beautiful. Shame it was so under powered.

I like Blade's supermodel analogy....beaufiful, expensive to maintain, and always in the shop(s).....the price of exclusivity.....but as long as you know that going in then it shouldn't be an issue.

Of the modern super bikes I think only the Panigale, RSV4 and R1 are especially good looking bikes. All the others are a bit plain and samey.

Yep....I'd go along with those picks all the way. I'd probably throw the BMW in there too.

There are not many bikes i think that look special. I like the engineering behind them and the details on bike more that the over all look most of the time. I could stare at an r7 all day....

That's why I like the H2. Each time I look at one I see something new, something I've not spotted before.

Which Duke to buy....why have I only just seen this list? 8)

What do you want to know?

I've had a 749, 1098s and an 848 Evo...all fantastic bikes if your after a Superbike.

Corner on rails, sound AMAZING (you have to get Termis, it's mandatory), serving is same as any other bike, they look sexy as hell and they're one of the most engaging bikes i've ever owned and ridden.

My mate has just bought a a 796 Monster and is LOVING it, he's had Supersport's before and his last one was a MT-09, and he says this is the best so far.

Buy what ever suits you and enjoy.

If I ever get any better I fancy a big fat monster 1200 I doubt I will be able to ride a sports bike again because of my wrists
I like the 749r and 999r a lot as well
