Honda marketing claim something like 90% all new but the reality is a there is a lot of revised component's. They will claim the frame and swing arm are all new as they save 300 grams and 100grams respectively and therefore technically a different design but IMO they look identical and have just been tweeked, hence the reason for the plastic cover which shows an opening in the frame which was previously covered by the fairing.

The semi active supension is very user friendly.

For those that wouldn't know which way to turn a compression or rebound adjust to nake an improvememt you can just go in the user menu and ask for more support in braking or acceleration as an example.

I reckon the Suzuki may be the surprise package as a riders bike. The variable valve timing should make for a great road bike and race bike.

But it looks so cheap though. I guess if you want a track weapon you're not going to be too worried about the looks but for me it's bottom of the 1000cc pile in the looks department.

Back to fireblade. I would opt for the standard bike which is not normal as I'm normally a whore for bling and biking porn.

£4000 more for the sp1 gets you a titanium tank, semi active ohlins, brembo calipers and a QS.

The QS and Brembo are a £500 mod. Who cares about a titanium tank tbh so £3500 for semi active ohlins. It's good but not good value.

I d take a nearly new stocker if it was my hard earned.

Must confess that trackday at Snetterton on the Panigale is a day I will probably remember forever. The thrill of such easy and relatively safe phenomenal speed will never be forgotten. Every one should try a current litre bike like that at least once.

I did ask if I could borrow one for my track day.

I've been toying with the idea (having not done the sums) of selling my ZX6R and just renting bikes for trackdays.

Smallboy are getting a 2017 GSXR which I would probably have a go on. I rode a 2012 GSXR1000 and that was pretty bloody good despite being a 7 year old design at that point. 3rd gear and the wheel was pattering on the tarmac - just floating. No TC made it a very exciting prospect and I wasn't half the rider I am now

The whole racing thing is going to have to wait unfortunately. I'm incredibly fortunate to have been able to own my own bikes, fund my own trackdays in both the UK and Europe and to be honest, the greatest part of all of this has been the people I have met.

I'm 23, looking to buy a house before I'm 24 and start my own family by around 26. I'll be earning much more by the time I'm 30 and I can look at racing then. My girlfriend doesn't want me to sell the bike or give up trackdays, she says I would be a pain in the ass if I never rode a bike! haha

JohhnyMack, PB journalist has given this a real slating in his first few weeks with one. Doesn't sound too promising from his comments.

Is that in the mag Duke or on the forum not read the article and like big Johnny Mack. His articles steered me towards the zx10r.
