Re: The Football Thread
Virgin Trains have been winding up Villa fans onTwitter for the last couple of days.
For example
What everyone is forgetting is that in the past 20 years @AVFCOfficial have won exactly the same amount of trophies as @VirginTrains #fact

@bimboovag @AVFCOfficial We won a trophy in 2014 for a social media campaign. So technically... ^CB

Re: The Football Thread
I do wish someone would get Shearer involved in the England set up. Not as manager but part of the team to kick some ass.

Re: The Football Thread
Birmingham City have just sacked their manager, Gary Rowett
Blues are 7th in the league, outside of the play offs on goal difference.
It's understood that the new owners want to change things about in time for the January transfer window.
All very odd.

Bizarre in the extreme.
Where will Blues find a better manager? he wont be out of work for long.

Re: The Football Thread
Very weird choice. He's got a crap record in recent years. Given how popular Rowett was he's going to struggle to win the fans over.

Re: The Football Thread
Just bought me and my lad a half season season ticket for BCFC. There are 10 home games left.
It's £128 for the pair of us as he goes free if I buy a ticket. They are good seats about 10 yards to the right of the half way line, half way up the stand.
Bit of a bargain IMO.

Re: The Football Thread
You know....I don't watch soccer that much, but all that "extra time" stuff is absolute bullsh#t....it's almost like the ref. just gives them time enough for one last stab at a goal. If you're playing by the clock then do it by the clock, not some random nonsense added on literally at the last minute.Kwacky wrote:We lost in the 95th minute. Typical Blues.
Be like adding an extra lap to a race AFTER the white flag has gone out. So two white flags, I guess?? ( How very French!).

Well done to Wayne Rooney
Club top scorer today for Manchester United.
People can slag him off, but he's one hell of a player.

Re: The Football Thread
He's only here for 3 games so it's a good move IMO. He'll get the players back to basics and fired up. We only need to win one game to be 100% sure of staying up so it's not an impossible task.

Re: The Football Thread
Villa away, Huddersfield at home, Bristol City away.
I'm hoping we get that new manager bounce for the villa game. If we win that and stay up Harry will become an instant favourite.
