The alternative would be Sydney Motorsport Park or as it was know previously, Eastern Creek. It's just had a major revamp with tracks added/extended, resurfacing etc etc.

From memory, PI had the first Aussie round before it went to Sydney for a few years..

I rode it 10 years ago before the revamp and it was great back then!!

I think they now have the international circuit, a skid pan, go kart track and an abridged version of the international track for juniors or retards (sorry, motards).

There are....why? - because of all the crashes the other day??? The track is virtually brand-new!! IIRC, attendance has been pretty weak though.....Texas is NASCAR country, and they don't need no stinkin' high-falutin' motorsickles down in them there parts. Hillbillies.

I know the same thing has been happening in regard to Laguna for years...not just for GP but for anything. Separate issue there though.....Laguna/Mazda is actually a county park....once they figured out just how much the city would lose in revenue the tosspots who live right by the track calmed down a bit...IIRC there was a mass boycott of businesses owned by anyone bordering the park....sommit along those lines.

It's politics more than anything. Nothing to do with crashes. More so with F1. Bernie likes to get a backhander and next thing you know there's racing in Moscow or Qatar and he's ditched a long standing country. It's bollocks.
