I've still not shifted this bronchitis. I called the Doctor. He told me to ride it out for another week then give him a call if I've still got it.

Well it’s a year ago today since I got flown off the platform with the suspected torsion that lead to the eventual discovery of my shoulder ache/numb hand issues.

Current plan is another x-ray mid next month to review how the fusion is going (should be solid by then) and review by the Neuro and possibly cleared to go out to work on the 28 August for one week to see how I go.

Things are still far from 100% but the remediation is being effective rather quickly and my tolerance to physical work is getting better. On Sunday I had a episode where nodding my head forward was causing shooting numbness down my sides and my right leg and tingling all down my back. A 30 minute session with the spiky ball muscle roller and it was all back to as good as it gets. So hopefully if things go a bit off at work I have the ability to recover on my own devices.

Well seems like I jinx myself.

Last two days I’ve had bad shoulder and arm ache, both hands have increased numbness, moving my head forward or back causes full numbness down my arms and today my right leg has gone gimp. Nothing I do seems to help.

I’m hoping I’ve just pushed things to hard while my niece and nephew were here and it’ll settle down, but it’s destroyed any confidence I had in my ability to return to work.

Luckily have a trip to Brisbane to see my Physio uncle, so hopefully if it’s still screwed he can work his magic.

EDIT: Tramadol and gin seems to help (lol)

Sorry to hear this Kiwi, same as you I thought you were well on the way to being fixed, seems life just screws you over sometimes, by showing you the chequered flag and then snatching it away again. I’m sure it’s just a temporary setback, go back to what works and go with a more sedate lifestyle until things level off for you again. Even though that sucks.

P.S. Good karma heading out to you from the Gee household. (y)

Sorry to hear progress has slowed kiwi. Hopefully it's a short term blip as you were making such good progress.

Hopefully the next review shows the fusion is complete and that improved stability may allow you to do more physio.

Stay strong buddy

I'm sat in the local hospital, been having some blood appear in my plumbing so I was going to have a blood test. That evolved into a trip to urology for a camera up where it will be uncomfortable.

When I got here, oh no, you need an x-ray first... Arrived at x-ray, oh, you need an ultrasound first.

I'm getting a full MOT. I love the NHS.

The internet says that it could be stress / high blood pressure.... Or prostate cancer or anything in between including one of many std's, not much chance of that, had one hell of a dry spell.

Fingers crossed for you mate, and if the last year has taught me anything, stay off doctor google!!

Next to impossible though I know.

I had similar in my 20’s. Turned out to be a kidney infection caused by a bladder infection that I contracted from my girlfriend even though that is supposed to be near impossible, but was proven by comparing our infection indicators.

Well I'm heading to work now, all looks good so no obvious cause and no prostate examination, which is nice.

GUI clinic soon to rule out any dormant infections.

That camera into the bladder stings a bit.

and it's caught up with me. I was off work yesterday as a day's holiday but I spent most of Sunday and Monday in bed. I've come in today but I reckon I'll be heading home once I've sorted out the new laptop.
