Google Chrome users

Post by Kwacky »

Has anyone noticed a slow down in performance over the last few months? I thought it was because I was using an old laptop but it's still pretty poor on my new one.

I've not gotten it yet, been thinking about it for a while.

I know that doesn't help, just chipping in!

Not much help either, but I tried Google Chrome myself and noticed that it was considerably slower....if I remember correctly, there's a lot of stuff running on it that most will rarely, if ever use....but it runs regardlessnesstess and slows down the entire process.....kinda like a big room...it costs the same to light it no matter how many people are in it....

Running Mozilla and IE at the moment.

I stopped using it about 6 months ago, it was putting an unusually high load on the CPU for a browser. Have you tried firefox?

Firefox IS Mozilla, Monty......it's also an appallingly bad Clint Eastwood movie, but that's another story entirely.

I used Firefox in the past. Looks like I'm switching back.

That said the IE 11 isn't too bad. I know, I know.

You could try Safari. Don't know what it's like on Windows but it's fantastic on the Mac.

Safari on windows is pants, they stopped updating it years ago.

I've not noticed much of an issue with chrome, but then my work machine is so heavily loaded up I doubt I would.

I find Tankslap runs slow every now and again whatever browser I use! I figured it was a problem my end browsing on mobile data but not sure. It doesn't do it all the time but once in a while it will start loading and just take ages to do anything. I can then open other tabs and other sites load up fine.

I use Chrome on Windows 8 when offshore for viewing TS and have no issues, but the connection out there is slow as dial up sometimes just due to location and load.

Just re-read this post, I thought it was about Chromecast.

I do use Chrome on the laptop, haven't particularly noticed any issues but then most of the time I'm on the mobile.

So I'm still no help.

I think my issues were more to do with Flash than the actual browser, I was seeing a 20% load on a 2.6 GHz i7

I've suddenly started having issues with Firefox and its load on the CPU. Obviously there so something new going on in these browsers that we don't know about.

It's probably Flash related, not the actual browser.

You could be right, Monty.

I removed some stuff to give more memory space and now it comes up with the Flash plugin error instead.

Its using the latest version so looks like its just the usual shit software.
