Nothing like a good leg day!

It was a push day for me, so shoulders, chest & triceps.
My first day back after a few days off as my shoulders been aching. Probably a result of overdoing it at the gym. Or more likely as a result of doing behind-the-neck presses which have always been a struggle for me, so quite why I chose to do them now that I've previously dislocated my shoulder is beyond me.

Anyways, warmed the shoulder up thoroughly, was still a little achy but not sharp pain. After heavy set no. 3 all was good, fingers crossed it was just a blip in Op Massive!

Sam and I went on the kick bags and showed them what a real kick is all about (rock) (punch)
(lol) my son was asked tonight, by their instructor, to show them how to throw a hook (lol)

Someone needed to!

Finished the week off with a leg day.

Front squats, Romanian deadlifts, hip thrusts, lunges and calf raises.

Shaky legs now mean I've earned pizza tonight. And maybe tomorrow!

Did some volume work on arms last night, I need to see if I can try and build them up, but it's difficult with the right arm. You can already see that the left arm is responding better than the right. My shoulders are doing better and improving, they don't get as tired as quickly as they used to.

Been to the gym to do a back and core session, then some leg stretches and kicking practice.

6 mile trail run, in the dark. The only good bit about the evenings getting darker.

It's the first time I've run in over a month and only the 3rd run since the beginning of July!

Training seems to be going well out here.

I mean I have done 3 runs in 6 weeks! :D

Have improved each time though. Still not where I want to be but chipping away slowly.

As for the weights, they're building up as well. After coming here straight out of the clutches of the physio, I've been anxious to push some serious tin around but without wanting a return visit, I've started well within my means and am making small improvements each session. So every time I do an exercise I make sure I either do more reps than last time or the same reps but with more weight.

Stats so far...

Bench Press has gone up from 5 sets of 3 @ 80kg to 5 sets of 3 @ 95kg
Deadlift started at 5 sets of 3 @ 120kg and is now at 5 sets of 3 @ 140kg
Squat capability, with my chicken legs, was at 5 sets of 3 @ 90kg, it's now up to 5 sets of 3 @ 105kg.

I have set some goals for when I get out of here, obviously I'm nowhere near those goals right now but the progress I'm making is reassuring.

Still fat though! :D

And no sooner have I written that than I find myself having to take a night off.

Massive headache since last night's session, and I think the deadlift and squats I've done this week have taken their toll. Time for a deload.

I'd come up with a witty retort, but you're right.

Got back in the gym today.

The few days off I've had have done me good in terms of strength, but I seem to have lost a bit of endurance.

Although having gone from the night shift to the day shift this weekend, coupled with a massive kebab and watching the Joshua fight late on, I've only had an hour's sleep so it could be that.

Sparring last night at Taekwondo.

I'm so slow and out of practice it's unreal. I need to get some practice in.

6 mile trail run again yesterday evening. Had forgotten how much fun it is running in the dark, starting to feel a but like a runner again.

Ouch! Itchy is taking no prisoners.

Debating on whether to either....
A)....Go out MTB riding.
B)....Go out & clean my MTB "as if" it had been ridden.

I've just eaten breakfast, it's going to be 90F today, etc.
My motivation is waning.

I didn't make it to the gym. I got home at 6.25and my session with the PT was at 6.30. Thankfully I knew I was going to be late so my wife took my place.

I cheered myself with a kebab and chips

I hope you spend the next 72 hours in an NBC suit for a pointless exercise.

Stranger things have happened.

I think I need to stop posting in this thread, every time I do I get hurt the next day.
My trap and neck have gone very stiff, making lifting things painful. In fact, even turning my head hurts. In order to look around I'm having to emulate Micheal Keaton's Batman!
