CBR 600rr refresh

One of our bikes is a Honda 600rr, 2005. My wife's in fact.

It's not had a difficult life, to the point of having the original front tyre 8500 miles. The tyres are too old now.

It's not worth selling, so I'm going to give it a small refresh to make it like new again.

So far my list is (I'll do it all myself):

New tyres
New chain (it's original too)
Brake pads and fluids
Front fork oil.

Possibles are:
Aftermarket exhaust
New / refurb rear shock

I've got some quotes for Metzler M7, M5 and Michelin Pilot Power tyres so I have those to consider, but what does everyone think? Brands or recommendations of all of the above appreciated.

Also, anything I've missed?

I'm not looking to bling it up, just refresh it.

Change the brake lines if they're the rubber ones. A bigger master cylinder helps.

M7rr really suit that bike.

I have the pilot powers and I must say they are a fab tyre! Don't see how you could of missed anything it's a great bike definitely keep it!!

may as well do the filters and spark plugs too , I imagine the plugs will be the originals .

When you posted "refresh", I thought we were talking new big end shells & new rings etc.. 8.5k miles isn't even run in yet for a Honda IMHO,

Yeah. Maybe refresh isn't the right word. Tidy up maybe?

Thanks all so far. Plugs and filters done last year, but good point. Bike will stay as a road bike, I don't think I'd get away with a track weapon, it's almost too good. It's almost as new apart from the aged parts, which I'll sort.

Are the M7's that much better than M5's? I can get the M5s for way less ££

On a serious note the M5s are fine but check the age of them as they stopped making a load of sizes a while ago.

Well I've had a chat with the chairman and I've ordered a pair of M7s

I've also found a guy who fits from a mobile van at your home, so I'm having a couple of tyres for one of the cars done at the same time. Result.
