Tony Benn - RIP

Sad loss to British politics.

Although i didn't agree with plenty of what he believed in, at least he did genuinely believe in what he said and wouldn't change his mind just to appease his Party. Some of the modern MP's could learn a hell of a lot from him.

I've tweeted the same thing. He was in it for the politics and for the benefit of others, not for the publicity and money. He was a political great. I didn't agree with his policies but he was a fine man who stood for what he believed in.

His comments about Tony Blair were priceless.

One of the very few folk on the left that I actually liked. He didn't constantly repeat the 'party message' like the other drones but spoke for himself.

Bob Crow on they other hand. .. What did he say about Thatcher ?? Well may he take his throthing at the mouth left wing hatred and rot in hell himself.

Didn't agree much with his politics, but sad to see one less of the endangered species known as the honest politcian. RIP

Years ago when i was about 10 and we lived in Swindon, my mum and dad took the family to London the train. On the way back on the train, Tony Benn sat opposite me and my brother. Though i cannot remember much now, I do recollect the day. My mum says he chatted to me and my brother all the way back to Swindon about all sorts of stuff.

A great man and a great loss to society.

IIRC he also was a big part of setting up the Triumph Motorcycle cooperative back in the 70's. Now there is a great idea that has never perhaps been given the chance it should.

Was a good man RIP. As said above, many in the Westminster Bubble could learn from how he carried himself, whatever your views.
