My wife just told me some good news and thought I would share it as there is so much bad news at the moment and it's nice to hear a good story.

There is a guy who joined the church my wife goes about a year ago. His wife left him after racking up a load of debt so he was introduced to the church by a program they run to help people in financial crisis. He will be on his own this Christmas and has little money or income.

My wife and her sister have asked him to join our family this Christmas day so he can share the festive holiday in good company rather than be alone.

We have all chipped in to pay for the guy to come to the restuarant with us and when my wife rang to book him on the meal, the restuarant manager was at first reluctant as their extremely busy. When my wife explained the situation the manager offered to pay the guys deposit out of her own pocket and said she will ensure this guy has a Christmas to remember.

There is still good people in the world and I just thought it would be nice to share a kind hearted story.

If we all took the time to do something nice for a stranger the world would be a much nicer place.

That's a really nice thing to do on all parts. As much as enjoy Christmas is can be a very sad and lonely time for people and doing things like the above is what Christmas should be about.

That's what it's all about.

Most of our christmas's we've had people round, be it for dinner or just a drink, for those who otherwise would have been on their own.

It's the little things which mean so much and it's an excellent lesson for you children.

I won't be there unfortunately as I'm working on Christmas day but I ve chipped in to pay for the guys drinks at the meal and will send some beers to the sister in laws where there headed after the restuarant.

If everyone in the world helped another person instead of worrying about there own position the world would be a better and more peaceful place.

I agree, giving can be far more satisfying than receiving IMHO.

I hope he will appreciate the gesture as much as it deserves.

Totally agree StMarks. I have always enjoyed giving rather than recieveing. It's very rewarding to help or make someone else feel good.

I'm very late here Blade. But that is a wonderful thing you guy habe done for this gentleman. Big respect to all involved, like you and others have mentioned if we all did something then I'm.sure the world would be a better place.

For to love kids, he is very clever...he clearly wants you off more often so he is injurying you now to be able to slow your healing process up!
