To be honest Cav I wasn't as shocked as the McLaren driver.

I know the road well, know the dip loads and unloads the suspension very quickly and a couple of other Supercars were in front so tbh was expecting it and positioned myself accordingly to be out of the way as much as possible.

For warned is for armed as they say (lol)

Wished I had a full wardrobe of bike gear at both ends.

This morning was chilly with a mixture of some sun and thick fog.

This evening was almost clear blue skies and 17 degrees.

Cold wasn't it this morning? I had the heated grips on.

I wished I had heated grips. But got distracted by getting joined by 2 other bikers as we ripped through the traffic.

What about heated gloves Nutz.

I would imagine they are more effective than heated grips and have the added benefit of 1 pair can be used on 2 bikes (y)

I have looked at them, if I'm still commuting next winter then I will look at these but I don't think it's worth it at the moment.

Heated gloves are the way forward my opinion. Absolutely love mine but they aren't waterproof like they claim and when water does get inside them then you get electric shocks!!

That sounds a bit dodgy Rossgo. Have they got a warranty?

I've had them for a a handful of years now to be honest. I remember we were coming back from Lucy's admit pissed it down. To be honest I think water got in from the top and went down my hands. Then started getting the shocks ImageImage

I suppose the electric shock keeps your mind of the cold. You may have cracked onto something there Rossgo (lol) get a patent in quick (nod)

Serviced the VFR. Replaced air filter, oil filter, and oil. Quick test ride and all is good and the gearbox feels so much smoother.

Also washed the vfr and checked everything else ready for Tuesday. Just taken the KTM out for an evening blast, that bike is so much fun.

Really starting to notice changes in my riding since I started commuting. I feel so much more confident on a bike in general and I'm reading the road much better. The unfortunate down side of this is I have to keep a much closer eye on the speedo...

Sounds good Nutz.

What do you put the confidence boost down to, extra hours in the saddle or riding in colder, more challenging conditions?

All of the above mate, combined with the fact you need the reactions of a rattlesnake.
