How do you stop the grips from spinning, wire?
It's on heated grips so I'm wondering if the heat cycles weaken the glue?
That plus the rain it has to deal with.

My mates a carpenter and he said his glue worked loose a few times, he gave up ans used his work glue that he uses for roofs...that thing has budged since! Unsure of the name but wouldnt reconmmend it as it seems pretty permentant

I've been given some false nail glue so I've tried that. I'll use Gorilla glue when I get home.

That'll do it! Love the gorilla tape, sticks anything.. Just annoyed I'm not allowed to use it on the kids gobs !

nope never needed it they were tight going on so usually use some brake cleaner or hair spray to put them on and thats it

Nothing really, just booked it in for a pair of Avon 3D Ultra Sport's at my local independent. £205 ride in ride out didnt seem too bad and they get good reviews.
I will see how they go once they're fitted on the 2nd of July.

Today stripped the brakes and gave them a good spray with break cleaner! It was dusty. Pistons nice and free and all in good working order. Cleaned up the pads with spray cleaner as the heat channels were clogged up. Put it all back together and now they dont feel very strong
and dont even get me started with the rear!!
Unsure, im hoping it's purely down to having no heat in them and also need to get rebedded, also the fact all ive done is pushed it down the car park. Im giving it a good ride tomorrow so fingers crossed they pick up!

Or maybe ive got a load of copper slip on them...or havent out the pads in correctly....never had an issue before though!

Squeeze the lever a few times. Should bring the brakes back to life.

I'm sure you know Rossgo, but I'll say it anyway mate.: Please do NOT use copperslip grease on the pistons or caliper mounts, as it it an oil based product. If it's in contact with the rubber components it can cause them to swell & degrade.
From what you've written mate, it just sounds like the pads will need to clean up & bed in again.

Yea defo did this. Theres a firmness there just didnt feel lile it gripped how it should be! Ill find out more tomorrow

Ill be honest I did know oil could make rubber swell eg chains
x rings but I always put a bit of copper slip onto the back of the pads, always believed it to stop squeaks, and never thought of that logic, oil on the piston o ring!
Fingers crossed thats all it is mate. Got a big ride tomorrow so it should bed in nicely and hopefully grip better!

I am, I have the Avon 3D storm XM on at the moment, proving to be a very capable tyre and longevity seems to be good so far, keeping to some shape and wearing in a consistent manner.
Unlike those horrible PR4's which had the strangest wear, just dropped off overnight.....horrible!
To be honest I cannot feel the difference in what I have on now and when I had the M5 or M7 hoops on the bike.

That gives me a lot of confidence in my choice, i went for the more sporty option because im planning a big tour next year and will fit new tyres for that, might try the storm's for that.
