Auto-blippers are cool..

Quickshifters are cool..

Both are totally unnecessary for the road..

I want both on my road bike (devil) I can only get a quickshifter though so that will do...

I have to agree except the last part (devil)

The Empty-10 has both, totally un-necessary but fun when you are in the mood, if not, use the clutch as normal.

Back to what I did to mine, took the topbox rack back off.

Have you read Brembo's brake bedding procedure? I followed it as best I could and have had nothing but delightful performance from my 320mm Discs.

When I say I followed it as best I could... there's only so much gentleness you can do on a trackday :D

Today I spent a couple of hours cleaning out all the brake calipers, I get distracted, had to take the can off to get to the rear one so that got a polish and wax, even it's mounting bolt got polished.

On the front the caliper pins ended up in the drill with some ACF soaked scotch bright, somehow the front reflectors didn't go back on ;)

Just pushing it into the garage the front brake feels better for some fresh grease around the pistons (Red rubber grease).

replaced the front brake res, so had to bleed them. Also adjusted the gear selector pedal as was a bit tricky to use with my new boots.

All good now, just have to wait 2 weeks to try it out at Llandow on the 14th. Gonna have a test day there. I haven't ridden it since doing a few bits and pieces to it....
remap
Fitting a quick action throttle
fitting new brake pads
fitting new adjustable clipons

so power delivery, how quick it gets there, how well it turns and how well it stops.

fairly important to get right i reckon.

How different are these grips? Not really thinking about changing mine but just wondering what the differences really are like

Softer, grippier and more comfortable.

And most importantly they make you feel like a MotoGP racer. :D

Do they wear out quicker if they are softer? What about vibrations though surely more vibes must be felt through them?

Softer means less vibrations Rossgo.

One of the reasons I've changed mine is the Oem grip is so hard it's like gripping a scaffold pole bolted to a cement mixer (shocked) and my hands throb at the end of a ride.

A very quick wash yesterday but the chain was scrubbed and lubed. It's a bit disheartening when you spend ages washing the bike only for it to look like crap after the next ride into work.

Yes they do wear quicker but they are only £15 a pair and will last a season. Easy to remove and replace each season.

I didnt realise this to be honest. No wonder why you have changed yours then! Grips isn't something that we talk about that much so its interesting to hear about them and know exactly why people change them...ive always thought it was to do with the looks Image sounds very silly of me now!!

15quid is a good price to be honest and clesrly for the advantages like cutting vibes is always a plus. So this is something thats recommended?

Only ever had aftermarket grips once and ill be honest i changed them because i didnt like the look of them but didnt give them a chance to see what they felt like compared to standards lol. I had the originals handed to me when the bike was sold to me hence able to change them back quickly lol
