Beautiful Easter Sunday here, song finally got around to washing the bike... and then I rode it! For the first time in about 6 months due to an exceptionally harsh winter here. Rode it to my in-laws for Easter supper, everyone sitting around the table in their Sunday best and me in my Pitty's "May the Force Not See You" polo and leathers...

What part of the U.S. are you in Mac ?

I also took the bike out, to work in my case, but I will be finished at 05:30 and not back in til thursday night so off for a bimble before bed, well depends how tired I am really but going for a good hour anyway, good way to get a bit of confidence back whilst its nice and quiet anyway, then bed....

Fitted a set of swingarm sliders to it.

They were the R&G ones that fit to the the spindle, like so...


This means I can't take the wheel off with them on, but I've never taken a wheel off whilst I've been biking anyway and besides, it took longer to get the tools, instructions and bike out ready to work on than it did to fit the sliders, so if I need to take it to a garage I can whip them off quick as a flash.

Haven't had a chance to try them out yet though. But I did get to take off the cheap crappy rusted ebay specials that are too short and if you screw them all the way in you mark your swingarm when you use the paddock stands!

Western North Carolina, in the southern part of the Appalachian Mountains so there are loads of good roads to ride

Well as planned took the bike out this morning, I was planning a route from Skemersdale over to Southport then south along the coast to the outskirts of Liverpool then find some back rds home, it was all going so well until 200 yds. out when the electrics died on me and that was that, had to push the bike back to work, all 549 feckin lbs of it, in the end I had to get a lift home from one of our drivers and walk the last mile and a half home, totally fed up now, 3 days off and no wheels, gutted.

Took the Mutley for the sort of ride I haven't done since last summer.

Choose a turning off a main road and just keep riding.

Went down some narrow lanes, some with grass growing in the middle , but the sun was shining and the views were fantastic ( especially the fit bird riding her horse.) Big plus of the Mutley is I can see over most of the hedges so plenty of great views.

Makes a change from just seeing how fast I can go.

Downside is i have filled up fuel tanks 4 times this weekend.

Spanked it round Derbyshire for a few hours in perfect conditions. Sunny but not too hot to ride and relatively light traffic early on

Not ridden for 6 months so it felt amazing. Started nervous and wobbly came back 120 miles later a GP riding god.

The "Dragon" is about 30-40 minutes from me, but because of the huge crowds of car clubs, cruisers, and squids I rarely go there, unless it's on 'official' business (crash). Many other lesser known roads to ride that are just as good.

Started the first stage of the 748's revamp.

Mono seat unit and Tecnosel seat fitted. TBH the seat needs a repaint as its not up the the standard of the rest of the bike but i'm going to use it for the summer first and get it done next winter.






I've then loosened the wheels off in anticipation of the Marchesinis coming back from the powdercoaters.

I'm also looking at changing the bars for some with adjustable angles. Can't seem to get it out of my head that the bar angle is just a little extreme for road use so might get some of these in a month or so. This will allow me to run them either as they are now or with the angle adjusted by 4 degrees and it will also add a more direct feel to the steering.

Got mine out for a little pootle over to boxhill to meet up with a mate I haven't seen in a while.. Great to be back out on the bike, even better with new tyres..

went well mark. 1st race i made 3 seconds up from qualifying time and finished 3 places up from grid position. 2nd race i was feeling so lethargic (too much bbq, lol) but finished in the same grid position, though only because i lost 2 places on the last corner of the last lap due to a silly mistake! roll on next time at darley, this was the first time ive raced there.
