I struggled to start mine the other day and put it down to that crap euro fuel which has 10% ethanol. I checked the starting system and battery all of which were fine so filled up a jerry can with some petrol from the local forecourt added that to the Blades tank and it fired up straight away on the button. I m sure its that crap ethanol fuel as if you remember my bike struggled a few times to start from cold in Europe. It was OK when warm but did seem to struggle when cold. Have you had any similar issues or concerns ?
I'm very suspicious of that stuff and try to avoid it.

I've seen 15% starting to appear at the stations over here. I assume it will be the same in the UK. I'm not using that unless I was really desperate.

At least they tell you what it is in France. Here they just fill the tanks up and don't tell anyone.

I remember that female garage assistant telling us we were filling up with the wrong stuff on the motorway in France. She said bikes should only be using the 98 ron fuel.

A tankful of the ethanol laced rubbish is likely to kill the tank on the Tiger as it's plastic, if no one tells us and it hasn't been introduced via legislation are petrol stations liable for damage caused? They paid in the end for a bunch of lambda sensors, so I don't see why not, proof may be an issue though....

The Multi's tank is plastic too but the fuel was never in the tank long enough to be a problem :D

French fuel was piss-yellow in colour unless that's how they top the tanks up over there.

Its a bit worrying if its brought in without us being informed. As Duke says at least in france it was labeled up even if there was nothing else available at least you knew and could choose to move on and look elsewhere for 98 Ron or super.

Have the issues gone now ? Do you reckon it was the ethanol stuff too ?

I sailed past all the rubber neckers on the M6 this morning. Crash on the other side which had been cleared up. That didn't stop a 3 mile tailback on the other side so people could slow down to take a look at the pretty blue lights.

I was going to resurrect on of the previous tyre threads to bring them to a conclusion, but they got a little derailed..

I left a thread open on TDR asking about tyres and last week a guy posted on the thread saying he had a good selection of 160 supercorsers.. Well a few messages and a shed load of photos later I am now the proud owner of a pair of lightly used tyres with a spare rear, all for a cracking price.

So all bar an oil and filter change, I'm all set for spain next year... bring on the sunshine (raaar)
