I took the sx out for the present and card run. Once I had emptied my sack I went out for a quick play on some local roads. It was reasonably warm and the roads weren't too bad. It was nice to get out.

Got a last breakfast run in before Christmas, almost went pete tong! just heading on the slip road of the motorway when the front end jammed up. One of the calipers was stuck, the disc was red hot. Managed to free things up and had a nice run out. All locked up like fort knox now.

Washed it and added some more farkles, front and rear fender extenders and hand guard extenders.

Cleaning the wire wheels is lots of fun (facepalm) They do look good clean though (y)

Today I took it out for a ride and mostly stuck to back roads, 150 miles around back lanes getting as far as Seaways at Fridaythorpe for a coffee stop. There was water everywhere as the entire area is saturated, we could do with some dry weather.

A quick spin on the kwak. The roads were cold and greasy.

It's been washed. A quick polish of the metal and plastics and some acf50

I wheeled the MV out and made sure the brakes weren't stuck. The front were a little sticky.

Not sure if this should be in the "what do you want to belly ache about today" section. As per above I went to wheel my bike out, thought it was still chained up, would not move. Front brakes stuck fast! Last weekend when I went out they were binding, they freed up and all was good for the day.
Anyway today I stripped the lot down, the state of the calipers and the pots as well as the pads was disgusting. Mega clean up, took hours.
I had not long fitted new pads, they look like they have done 30K !!! I had a strange feeling I had been ripped off and bought fake pads, I always by SBS for the S1, but these were in a right state. On closer inspection many of the bolts around the bike looked really furred up. I have come to the conclusion its not dodgy pads, just shit road salt and what ever else they throw on it to make it sippy and corrosive.
I have noticed in the car the lack of grip as well, possibly the tyres are knackered, I must check lol.....

Anyway, through on my biking clobber and took a manic ride down the bypass..... Ha ha ha ... Man shes quick. Not really the best time to get out, the sun (yes sun was out for a bit lol) was really low and I could not see anything, and I am sure I was not seen, I know I was'nt.... pesky cars....

Gave it a wash and fitted a taller tank bag ring with some spacers.

Might ride tomorrow, might not.

Not moving mine from the comfort of it's stand in the shed.

We've had quite a bit of flooding round here over the just couple of days. Most of its fine back down, but there are still some big puddles about and the roads are covered in crap

Got a nice ride in today, monthly Triumph ride out, not too far, Bull dog to Iron Bull for breakfast,,,, first time I have had one here, it was good. The a loop around to Alton and back again up to Basingstoke. Yep, still lots of puddle and floody bits around, then back roads home.
Now time for a cuppa and a warm up.

Started both to move the oil round a bit.

Regretting not getting an electric start MX bike. A 250 4 stroke is a bugger to kick when it's really really cold...

The trick I got shown when I had my Husaberg

If it’s fuel injected, let the fuel pump pressure up, cycle the throttle once to full and back to zero. Gently use the kick start to get it to TDC (can feel the compression) go one click past that. No throttle and give it a good kick.

Once I’d learnt that, started first kick nearly every time.

What is this mysterious injection of fuel of which you speak? Is it some kind of witchcraft?

Lol..

Nah, it's carbed.. sometimes it starts like a dream when cold, others it's nearly heading for the nearest stream Image usually turning it over a couple of times at full throttle and then kicking it hard from tdc does the trick, but I think it's quite easy to flood..

On Saturday I delayed the first service by a week, tomorrow's forecast is bright and sunny, -1°C, I don't fancy riding on ice.

Next Monday is scattered showers and 11°C so a bit better.

Ah right, sounds like you're all over it (happy)

I do remember that pain though, I went from a 350 2 stroke to the 400 and for the first two months wanted to burn it :D

Took it out for the first time this year yesterday.

It was cold, slippery, and there was gravel everywhere. Bloody good fun though.

Trying to find somewhere to locate my quadlock. There's no space on the bars and the mirrors have a weird stem.

I might see if there's a handlebar extension for the inside part.

Rode it. I even remember how to do so.

Too much shit and potholes on the road mind due.
