A cloudy day this morning, which is a blessing. It means I'm not flicking my sun visor up and down like a sugar rushing toddler on a trampoline.

I might have to go full tosser and get a peaked lid.

reactolite or photochromic lenses may help , my specs are reactolite I do still get some glare and sometimes I wish they would lighten a little quicker but generally an improvement over sunglasses or dark visor .

I've got a pinlock insert but I've found that it's not very good. It reacts quick enough but it's not very strong so I'm still struggling to see.

My dark visor isn't really that dark, more of a dark smoke really. I left it on this morning and it was fine, the where loads of police on the A34 this morning though.

A couple of friends just put a strip of black tape at the top of their visor as a sun shade, seems to work really well and avoids having to get a peaked lid.

I did try the tape trick but by the time I had got it lined up I looked like a cylon.

And it didn't do too well in the wet.

I keep looking at these, but can never bring myself to buy on. Living up here in Scotland helps - no sun!!

As well as making you look like some motocross wannabe, they must be pretty noisy, not to mention what would happen if you glanced upward whilst battering along at 70+mph...??

It's a shame you can't test ride them. They can't be quiet.

The only remotely half decent one I’ve seen (and that’s stretching the word decent) is the expensive Honda one, about £600.

Get much better kid for half that.

They’re just so.....cumbersome looking??

It’s not bad, but I’d have the peak off and thrown away first time I saw myself...

Are you a medium? I bought an AGV version a few years ago and it’s barely worn. You are welcome to try it on the bike to see how they work.

Nothing wrong with that....it'll go well with the bike you commute on. Even the bill works.

After having 3 attempts at my life last night within 10 minutes I decided to take the car into work today.

One bloke overtook a queue of stationary traffic and drove straight at me as I was filtering. I was on my side of the road. I stop and leaned to the left. How he missed me I I'll never know.

Glad your ok. It's people's arrogance on the roads that still surprises me.
