Tested the fuel tank's capacity.

Turns out it's 139.2 miles.

At which point it splutters for approximately one second, then dies.

Luckily I managed to coast into a side road, pull over, side stand down, phone the missus and feel the sun on my back for half an hour whilst she went and got me some petrol. I even got a Maccy D's as we needed to feed the kids before Holly had to go to Brownies!

And a little side story to this, one of my work colleagues drove past and saw me, rang me via his bluetooth system and asked if I needed any help. I said thanks but the missus is on the case.
He texted me about 20 minutes later.
He'd only gone and filled up his diesel CR-V with a tank's worth of BP Ultimate.

Petrol. (facepalm)

Not a great day for fuelling!

To be fair to him you could only have seen me at the last second, it was a busy road so he didn't really have a chance to stop.

He did say after he called though that he had a chuckle to himself. So maybe a hint of karma, who knows?

The GPZ is still in the garage, need to ring them in the morning, apparently it was fitted with an immobiliser that was so well hidden it took over a day to trace all the connections, the owner had taken the loom apart and fitted the cables inside it, so hoping to pick it up dinnertime tomorrow, other than that messing about in the shed on the Z650

I did that with my little Blade.: I fitted a Spyball alarm/immobiliser to it when I first brought her. I also stripped the loom & rebuilt it round the Spyball.
The internal battery in the Spyball eventually gave up the ghost (after about 10 years) & I had to remove it. Trying to figure out what I'd done all that time ago was an absolute 'mare.

Where you ordering those from mate ? I've found a place that does kits for various bikes, you've probably heard of them, TSS Fasteners, they've got a shop on Ebay, tempted by Racebolt but it wont be cheap

Thankfully the dealer fixing it is a bit on expert on bike electrics so that's relief just hope it sorts it out, the weathers great and I want to get out on it
