Relived more than anything else. I'm just going through the motions now. I really can't be arsed.

How I feel the last shift offshore every swing.... which is tonight.

the realisation that I have to do 2 weeks in Quarantine detention again starting tomorrow is not helping my motivation one bit.

I've already had some work come over for the new team. There's a nice sense of familiarity as I'm reading through the papers. This liability investigation work is the sort of work I've done for most of my career.

Waiting for a phone call with the Physio. I realised about a week ago that I haven't given exercises a second thought since my last appointment. I've just been so busy trying to fix myself in every other way.

First 24 hrs of quarantine down and I slept 12 hrs of it. At least I’m getting paid to swing off night shifts.

Accompanied a neighbour down to Roy Pidcock BMW to part-ex his Z1000sx for a BMW 1200 GS, he got a good deal on it, 2016 model with 9800 miles on it and a new pair of Michelin Road 5's thrown in to seal the deal... He's in love, can't stop raving about how easy it is to ride and has already started fitting farkles to it.

Then I took my dad to the butchers and petted a sheep which was in the field next to the carpark.

Now browsing for a GS... Checks age, okay I have had the S1000XR on my mind for a few years, I think it's next...

A little yeah, I don't just take it out for the fun of it like I have with previous bikes. Although it is much nicer to ride now the brakes work properly it just doesn't feel right somehow. I might try some different tyres next year.

I reckon you'll love the XR (biased opinion obviously)

It has the same level of comfort as the SX I test rode, but it has the thrill factor that I found the SX lacked. It's not quite a bonkers as the KTM though, but happily gives liter sports bikes a run for their money.

I want to try the 2020 model again, but on first impressions I found my version a more enjoyable bike to ride.

Bonkers as the KTM was, the electronics started showing random errors and the dealer was of the opinion that as it was out of warranty it was my problem.
A friend has had a proper saga with his MK2 Superduke GT.
Blown engine at 800 miles, No loan bike, had to hire one at his own expense as he was on tour in Scotland and arrange recovery of both bikes when the KTM was fixed.
Blown engine at 1200 miles... Demanded replacement bike.
Faulty starter at 2000 miles.
500 miles later the replacement starter lost a tooth, engine currently being stripped to find the missing piece, also rear preload adjuster faulty, requires complete replacement shock.

Soooooo Yeah/Nah nah KTM have too many question marks, After the way BMW treated you D6, that is worth a lot and makes me trust that if anything goes wrong they will sort it out. KTM fall way short even if you have just handed over £18K for a flagship bike.

My mates superduke has been a pain in the arse. It's only 18 months old. Regular glitches have become the norm.

I'm not normally one for the "big dealer experience", normally I'd hunt for a private deal. But it has to be said, with a BMW main dealer you do get what you pay for. I would definitely recommend approved used.

If in 2022 I don't buy the XR at the end of the PCP then I will be back at BMW for a new bike. But as things stand I'm almost certainly going to pay the settlement and keep it for a while.

Ducati/Triumph Glasgow have gone into receivership today. Sadly I don’t think they will be the only ones.
