I reckon there was a 10 degree difference between yesterday's dog walk and today's.

Nice! Have you custom specced it and assembling it yourself?
I don't mind if you want to nerd out with the specs. I love PCs!

Re: What are you doing today ??
not assembling myself , I usually do but the availability of components is horrendous and pricey (more so than usual ) so I specced a machine to be built for me , I am going to add some extra drives and an OS etc but thats about it I hope . Specs are :
Corsair Obsidian 750D Airflow Large Gaming Case
Be Quiet! Pure Wings 2 x 140mm Quiet PWM Case Fan
AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 3.4GHz 16 Core 32 Thread Processor
ASUS TUF Gaming LC 120mm RGB Liquid CPU Cooler with 1 x 120mm TUF RGB fan
ASUS TUF Gaming X570-Plus Motherboard
ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3070 8GB OC Gaming Graphics Card
2TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVME PCIE M.2 SSD
32GB (2x 16GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX 3600MHz Memory Kit
850W - Corsair RM850X Fully Modular Gold Rated PSU
I am adding 2x 500GB SSD and 2 x 4TB Sata HDD and maybe at a later date if I am feeling flush I could add another 32GB ram .
It should be a significant performance increase over my current rig .

Re: What are you doing today ??
I am just hoping that the reinstall of lightroom goes well and that it can recover all my catalogues etc , I have had to rebuild it once when there was an error it took me weeks to get it sorted simply due to the huge number of images I have , I have saved the catalogues on a separate disc too just to be safe .

That's a massive spec! I had the 650W version of that power supply, they're brilliant!
Makes me want one! haha

You've done well just getting hold of a 3070. They've sold out across the whole planet!

Re: What are you doing today ??
I'm using windows 10 pro , I'd like to use linux but it's a bit of a faff and not all the games I play are supported and the drivers for the latest RTX cards aren't fully featured so I'll be sticking with Bill but I buy my keys from fair software.com for between £10 and £30 not the full price rip off , no point giving him all the money .
Part of the reason I had it built rather than buying it and assembling myself , some of the more forward looking PC builders ringfenced kit for that purpose but it wasn't available for sale to the public .Monty wrote:You've done well just getting hold of a 3070. Re: What are you doing today ??
I have been waiting for a call which has not happened, and browsing eBay for a right cockpit fairing for the ST, mine has a broken fastening lug so it waves about above 40 and holds the little glovebox lid. The only one is £25 and in worse condition than mine... So I looked up how much a new one is from World of Triumph online, expecting some fantastic price or the dreaded grey "Unavailable" box.
£26.10, in stock... There may be postage on top but I get paid tomorrow

That shop has been around for years. I'm happy to see it's still going.
