Christmas

Post by Kwacky »

When do you allow it into your house?

I'm a miserable git so my kids are prevented from having the tree up until the weekend before Christmas.

In my opinion Christmas decorations shouldn't be up before December, even if you're a commercial organisation.

Knowing how attentive you are to motorcycle maintenance this is probably true.

Starts this weekend for me. Were telling the kids were taking them to Lapland.

God only knows how I have kept that secret for 10 months as I reckon I'm more excited than the kids.

As me and er indoors don't live together, I haven't bothered with any decorations or a tree for the last 5 years. She loves it , it's like santas grotto round hers, the national grid must struggle when she turns all the inside lights on.

Usually about 2 weeks before Christmas day decorations are allowed.

Before then it's only moaning about the amount of Christmas crap on the telly and radios and in the shops.

I never get people moaning tbh.

If you want to start the celebrations early and enjoy them get on with it. If you don't just ignore them but don't moan about it, that's just plain grumpy.

You can't really ignore them though, that's the problem.

Especially so when you work at one of the UK's largest commercial radio stations.

I can see my headphones getting a lot of use over the coming weeks.

There's a time limit on jolly and happy about christmas. When the shops put everything up on Nov 1st and my kids hassle and whinge at me endlessly about christmas crap everytime we go near the shops, my happy and jolly runs out well before christmas. Thank god I'm back offshore.

Anytime before Dec 1st should be illegal. 12 days of christmas is plenty.. so dec 14th is early enough for me.

Well I enjoy it anyway. But that might stem from I miss at least half of them due to work commitments.
