I like the idea and the look of that Street Twin, even if the marketing is a bit hipster.

Triumph do the classic stuff really well. I've always liked the Thruxton and wouldn't object to owning one if I had the space and cash.

Led to believe it has a couple of surprises up its sleeve.

Oh dear, the Triumph website seems to have crashed (giggle)

At least people are showing an interest.

The Triumph Thruxton also gets a 1200cc engine but it isn’t identical to the T120. This engine not only makes more torque – 112Nm at 4,950rpm but it also makes greater power and revs higher though Triumph wouldn’t discuss either in more detail at this event. Styled as an extremely attractive cafe racer, the base Triumph Thruxton now gets a higher spec R model featuring adjustable Showa upside down forks up front, Brembo Monobloc radially mounted callipers and a fully adjustable Ohlins rear shock set. The Thruxton also gets Pirelli’s excellent Diablo Rossi Corsa tyres to reiterate its sporty intent. In terms of electronics, the Thruxton spec adds a Sport mode.

Impressive Torque.

I'm at the event (well back t hotel now)

Been really good, the classics are pretty good and I was never a classic fan. I have loads of pics and video of the street twin running with the new high level 2 into 1 exhaust from Vance and Hines. They were over here for the launch and reveal of the classics and Vance and Hines as a genuine accessory

There's loads of systems they have done for the 3 models revealed this weekend (street twin, Thruxton and Bonneville)

Thruxton is meant to be awesome.

that sounds beefy.

I like this stuff from Triumph. There's nothing wrong with having brand recognition. The sales suggest that they're well received motorbikes.
