I don't think i would cope very well with it not getting light til about 9.30am in the middle of winter.

I start work at 630am and don't finish till normally 730pm at the earliest so always dark in winter for me. If I'm working nightshift I can go weeks without actually seeing day light

But you get the same hours of daylight in a day. The period of darkness remains the same.

That said, it's currently GMT so we could leave it as it is and not bother with BST.

I hate the darkness in the mornings more than anything. Winter is a real struggle for me.

Yes I have. It works to a point but my problems go a bit deeper than that sometimes.

I hate the darkness, period! it makes me feel sluggish and tired! I think it's quite nice to have the time changing...when I used to work weekends I always found it funny to the guys who came into work late haha!! What would the youngsters have to talk about if clocks didn't change!!

It was too dark in the mornings. The hour has restored the fact it's light when I wake up now . I tend to wake up when it's light so I was sleeping in too much the last month!

The farmers do need the hour change but I do wonder if they could move it 30 mins and leave it alone maybe?

It's not so much the fact it gets so dark early and late that depresses me in the winter months, or the fact we have to change our lives to accommodate it, it's the absence of any sun at all during so called daylight hours, the never ending cloudy grey sky for day after day - along with it being cold, damp and horrible that is. Yep, that's it, I'm officially depressed.

It's the time-thingy....there's 24 hours in a day, but it only takes the Earth 23 hrs 57mins or sommit to rotate fully....so the days/nights vary in their longevity, then they throw in a leap year day in to make up for it....or sommit like that...????

No it's the tilt of the earths vertical axis, the overhead Sun (at noon) moves between the tropic of cancer and tropic of capricorn over 12 months.

23 hrs 56 mins to do a full rotation, but because of the orbit around the sun it's placement catches up the 4 mins so a full solar day is 24 hrs.
