Hard to believe that this little planet is billions of miles away, yet we're looking at detailed photos of it.

I love the contrasting terrain. You could imagine that there were rivers there or a sea which made the flat parts or the canyons. Some of the craters looked like they've been weathered.

Hard to believe we've successfully sent a probe 3 billion miles and flown it within a few thousand miles of a planet and it gets a tiny fraction of the news coverage Katie Hopkins gets!

Stunning photo but it isn't real life true colour, they've altered it to show different chemical compositions.

I think they say it's a black and white photo which they've coloured. All the same the detail is something else.

That link Kwacky posted is an 8000 x 8000 pixel picture and makes a cracking background screen on a 4 k monitor. The detail is incredible
