reading recommendations: james whitham - what a good do, ron haslam - rocket men, mick grant - takin the mick, hizzy - steve hislop.

Niall McKenzie's book is as good a read about racing bikes that i have read.

its a good read, and i like him, but its very analytical which didnt really do it for me.

I'm reading ring of Fire by Rick Broadbent at the moment. He is the author who wrote "That near death thing" which I thought was amazing, so thought I would give one of his other books a chance.

Just given That near death thing to a mate at work to read and after the first chapter he tells me he is hooked so highly recommended.

yes "That near death thing" is a good read, ive missed "Ring of Fire" so will look at getting that.

I'm reading "that Near Death Thing" at the moment, but "ring of Fire" is next on my list. I read Guys book a few months ago, and really enjoyed it, one of the best biker books imo. I read Stoners book just prior to that and found it dry compared to Guys, but still a good read.

Barry Sheenes biography was a bloody hard read, interesting, but the structure of the story telling was a shambles, did my OCD head in!

I'll get it in the post to you Monday Blade.

i slightly thought that after reading it, i didnt like the slagging off/dismissing others parts of it, it sounded like he's a little bitter, but then on the other hand didnt seem to care a jot, still like him though and think he's a fantastic character.
