Tyre pressure
New Metzeler M7RRs on my R1. Just curious to see if most Folkes run pressures as per bike guide book. Or do you run slightly lower.
Always have been in my mind that running slightly lower would get better contact patch for 'real road's also better absorption, heat carcass up little quicker? or am I talking out my 4ss
Not that I'm commuting like marquez every where (wishful). But just curious. I know trackdays are different as tyres get really hot.
But roads?
Cheers

Re: Tyre pressure
I run them as they come. I'm not really one for checking pressures all the time, I know you should.
What I have found is that the rear is very tolerant of changes but you can tell if the front is low.
I like the way you can give the M7rr stick the moment you put them on. I rode home in the rain after having a set put on and they were excellent.

Re: Tyre pressure
I run mine a little down from the manufactures spec, but that's a personal choice. I've always run then a little low.
Unlike kwacky I find the front on the RSV is really sensitive to the pressures. But I guess different bike different rules.

Re: Tyre pressure
Don't have the M7RR but generally speaking I like to play about with my tyre pressures to see what the best feeling is for me in the different tyres. Generally speaking I like them slightly firmer than most people

Re: Tyre pressure
I run what the book says. And I've found that to feel the best. When I am 1 or more psi lower, especially on the front, you can really tell. Makes the bike handle noticeably worse. Then you pump the tyres back to recommended pressure and its like razor handling again!!!
Also, water dispersion and tread patterns are designed to work at the correct pressure. Something else to think about.

Re: Tyre pressure
Yeah, you moron. leave my account alone.
As I was saying. Recommended tyre pressure is all a load of bollocks. I say its best really high for reduced friction, and with helium to lighten the bike
