I am a little worried

The last few weekends, even more so today doing my garden I have been seeing and hearing a lot more bikes gunning it, especially down the by pass, I am a fair way from it but I can really here them screaming.

I don't know if it's down to me commuting on a bike now, but the weekends seem to be full of some extreme riding, for what I have seen and as I say heard from my garden!

Or am I just becoming an ol fart!

You're not the only one. Late at night when it's dark I can hear them when I'm out walking the dog, and they're really going for it. I can't think where they can do those sort of speeds near me.

Yep here too mate. There's a national speed limit road right next to me come over for a Sat or a Sun and your hear them all day long zooming up there!

My mate lives in Bridgnorth he said its common in the summer to hear a bike screaming away then silence then ambulance sirens
It's to easy to get carried away,I had to have a word with myself on Saturday and calmed down the way I was riding

I know where your coming from mate :), I know what a fast bike sounds like, what I am saying is there are a lot of people who are riding far to fast for the roads they are on, and I am concerned that it is a lot more frequent than any other year at the start of the so called season. Hence my title, I suppose I am just speaking out loud, of the thoughts in my head..... :) about the safety of others.

Round here it's an occasional thing when you hear a bike pinging it out of the village. But I love the sound, it just makes me a little jealous that it's not me.

Listening to the newer bikes with quick shifters is great.

I think everyone else s bike sounds fast when you are not riding yourself.

I do agree though that already this year I have seen a few bikes doing stupid speeds in the wrong places but then i don't think its anything particularly new either. Probably just a bad day for it near you yesterday, Frankie.

Went Orbzorbing with my lad yesterday and the tractor brigade were out in force in the area, sadly rural Essex lanes will never be American interstates.

I'm such a hypocrite when it comes to bike riding. I know for sure if I saw some of my riding third hand I'd be calling myself a goose.

I reckon we all do from time to time. Its admitting it and then doing something about it which is the good side of it.

It's always happened since bikes were invented. We have moved on in machine and exhaust design, recall the 400 cc craze, they would sing to heaven but speed ??? Maybe our views change as we get older but I love the sound of a multi on the stops howling in the distance any time of day !
