Charity Sponsorship

Post by Blade »

I hope people don't mind me asking as most people on here won't actually know my wife but if you have a few spare coins (any amount is very gratefully received) please sponsor my wife who is running Cancer Research UK's Race for Life to raise funds in memory of her mum.

If anyone know's my wife they will know how much of a challenge this will be for her as she hates running and sport in general. In fact the only time I've seen her run in the last 18 years is in the opposite direction to me (blush) but unfortunately she is never fast enough and I always catch up with her to bug her some more, haha (giggle)

All joking aside if your happy to do so please throw a few pounds in the pot, its a great cause and something I know we can all relate too.

Thanks for any support that can be offered (y)

Thanks BM your very generous and your support is very much appreciated.

All, My wife is very happy and wanted to say thank you herself. She's blown away that people who don't know her are so generous and willing to help her. I can relate to this as I remember when I ran the marathon and got talking to random strangers on trains or in a bar and the conversation came up, people would just give me cash there and then. There is a lot of bad news in the world these days but its very humbling when strangers offer very generous support, let's you know there are still very good story's to hear and kind people in the world. Thanks guys we both really appreciate your generosity and support.

Your welcome mate. It's a very worthy cause, and I really respect people willing to challenge themselves physically for the benefit of others.

Cheers Nutz and have no fear this really is a big challenge for my missus as she hates running but she is determined not to let people down. I'm really quite proud of her tbh

My wife has asked me to said her deepest thanks to everyone on here who very generously sponsored her (y) and I would like to add my own thanks to that as well, cheers guys (y)

Tina raised £235 on just giving and a further £40 in cash which she gave to her sisters just giving page to get the gift aid back as they were part of the same team.

There were 3 girls in the team, my wife, her sister and a friend. Between them and the generosity of many friends and family members the girls raised over £600 which is amazing.

Personally I'm really proud of my wife as in 18 years of being together I have never know Tina to do any sport so this was a huge challenge for her probably more mentally than physically. Tina has always lacked confidence in sporting activities but this has helped turn that around and she is keen to continue running and do more events now which is great news all round for both personal achievement and supporting charity.
