Would you buy a Cat D bike?

Have seen this Tiger 800 XC come up on ebay and looks to be a steal.

Finally selling my Triumph tiger after 2/3 years use.
This bike is the perfect Town/City bike.
Adjustable seat, high/low riding position....
Great view of traffic.
Good with potholes & speed bumps.
Upgraded headlamps High Night-time View, (fully Legal)
Awesome Power.
New chain, pads and recent Oil + Filter.
'Peli' style case attached for shopping etc... (easily removed)
'Peli' style case cushion gives great seat for pillion
Only low miles.
Long MOT 21st September

Yep. I wouldn't have any problems with that. I presume he's got the assessment documents for you to look at.

Just waiting for a response as have asked what the damage was. Cheers for the advice, will ask for the assessment docs.

If the guy seems genuine, the paperwork backs up his description of the incident, the bike passes your inspection and the price reflects the cat D status its got to be worth considering, so YES.

Ha ha, no standard gearing, practice, saying that it was a lot easier before I replaced the chain and sprockets, nice tight new set on now.

Blade, man, how many bikes, you change them more than me buddy...:-)

Sorry I'm late to the table on this, I've had a CAT C bike and a CAT D car, the latter was awesome with no problems at all.

the bike however, well, that ended up having a hidden busted headstock which meant a new frame!

therefore my advice, check it over fully, yet saying that it maybe because of the questionable design on the Tiger 800s where they welded the passenger pegs to the frame; I've heard people dropping them and getting written off as it is a part of the frame. It may well have been that as a CAT D is normally cosmetic damage to costly to repair.
