Very nice car mate, and I'm glad to see you enjoying your success now. When I was a kid, it used to kill me to see all these nice cars being driven by retired types, so the fact that you are able to get one while you're young is awesome (y)

I've been working towards this goal for 27 years now and really excited to get to this point in my life and turn the poster on my childhood bedroom wall of my dream car into a reality.

Looks lovely and if you work hard then you play hard, and well deserved.

Don't laugh but I was just as excited with my new tractor a couple of weeks ago

New tractor is awesome, but a bit scary in high range, goes bit quick for my liking :D

Can we have pics with the whole family next to the shiny new toy, just so I can dream . Don't think I'd ever be able to have one as I'm only ever in wellies.

I'd love a shiny new car

. Off today to make the 180 mile trip back home with 5 dogs in the back so perhaps my little connect van is all that I'm ever likely to have :-(

Very very nice....I'm not a huge Porsche fan....round here they're a dime a dozen, and when I've driven them I find the seating position to be awkward...me back can't handle it....but nonetheless a very nice car....enjoy!

Well it didn't go too well. Gutted and its been a long long day. Set out at 830 am and just got home.

Got the train down there and took the car for a test drive where it started misfiring

Got back to dealers and connected a code reader and yes it was misfiring in cylinders 4,5 & 6.

I genuinely don't think the dealer was pulling a fast one and they were very good about the whole experience. Offered to refund me my train journey home, offered a full refund of my deposit or will get the car checked, fixed and warrantied and then delivered to me at no extra charge.

Told them I don't want to make a rash decision and we can speak on Monday.

Its been sat for a few months with old fuel so could be simply that although we did put £20 of 97 Ron in a couple if miles before it started misfiring and with it being in one bank of cylinders only I think there is more to it than old fuel.

Possibly plugs, coil packs, manifold leak, fuel pump, fuel filter or fuel lines, o2 sensor its hard to say and could be one of those hard to pin point faults that takes many attempts to resolve.

Going to have a good long think on this one as I did have a great deal on it but got to be realistic this could be a show stopper even if only a small issue it could be hard to pin point and fix.

Oh dear, as you say it could be something simple from sitting around, if so result for you, train far sorted, free delivery etc... if not its meant to be and there is a better one around the corner :) You have waited 27 years another few days wont make much difference.

That's a tough day after being so excited :(

For me it would depend on how they solve it and the quality of their warranty. If it's the fuel then your still good I reckon, but you have my sympathies.

I'm surprised they didn't test it before you came down? That might knock my confidence a little.

The dealer has talked a good story and has been very helpful up to now so I will see how it pans out, but agree they should have checked it out thoroughly before I travelled although in fairness to them they organised an independent inspection but I don't think it included a thorough road test more a workshop based inspection.

I told them any diagnostic work needs to be done by Porsche or a reputable Indy for me to have any confidence. A quick plug into the laptop at a local a garage isn't going to wash and they agreed that would not be how they want to handle it so I will see what they say on Monday.

Looks an absolute cracker Blade and am gutted it didn't work out, I know from personal experience that some faults are a pita to find, the more complex a system is the harder to accurately diagnose a fault it becomes. Chin up and maybe it'll still come right, but whatever happens it'll have taken the shine off what should have been a brilliant day.
