So what would you drive

Post by D6Nutz »

If you've seen my birthday thread you will have seen the present that my wife and family have got me (nice.. very nice).

So here's the question.. I've got an idea on what I would choose, but what would you choose if you had the chance, which would be your favourite car and why ??

I had to take TVR off the list as there where too many poll options,.

My votes are in. I have two favourites, the Nissan GTR and the Aston. Why, the Nissan is the tech wonder of the supercar world and for that reason catches my eye. The Aston is simple, it's an Aston Martin and one of the cars I would love to own.

I'd go with the Arial as its a pure track care and will blow your mind, but perhaps not first.
GTR as its the most capable road and track car.
Gallado as its a lambo and bonkers anyway.

Ferrari would depend which one. 458 then yes, if it's a 360 or something of that era no.

Aston. Drive it first, it will feel soggy and sluggish (especially with their auto gearboxes) compared to the others.

I love supercar trackdays. Much better when they are not yours. Will you end up with a nanny, sorry instructor in the passenger seat?

GTR every day of the week. It's usually over looked because it's not European but it's a beast of a car.

I voted Atom, Ason, Ferrari, GTR and Scooby

The two no brainers were the Aston and the GTR for pretty much the same reasons as you Jon!

The car I'd really like to try though is an NSX. Don't see many of them though.

It would have to be the Prancing Horse IMO. Hopefully it would be a 458.

Arial Atom would be fun, but it's too much like a four wheeled motorbike.

I can honestly say that my old 86 Cosworth-Mercedes is the best car I've ever owned...it's not quick until you get it up to speed, but then the car just sings...ask my son and his pussy-ass WRX. The hydraulic suspension just kicks in on the turns....it keeps the rear end flat and composed, and oversteer is both minimal, and a blast.
And the brakes....everyone always tslks about how fast a car will go, never about how fast it will slow....the braking is phenomenonal, the ABS is totally unobtrusive....and bear in mind this is all on a car that was built in '85, the first year ABS was used.
It's a PITA....everything tells me to sell it, but then everytime I drive it I fall in love with it all over again.

Ferrari and the Porsche. Proper sportscars.

The Ariel would be a hoot.

As to the Subaru? STI? Really? did no one think that through when naming it?

Being far removed from Europe, those cars from the Continent hold the most allure for me. I picked the Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche (fav since I was like 5) Aston Martin and the Atom.

Is the Impreza to be driven on track or on an off road/ rally course. Not really in the same league as some of the others on track but for going sideways...
Astons are also too slow in most of that company!
