Special Brew

Post by Kwacky »

It's always been the choice of the drunk hasn't it?

This article suggests more noble beginings but I'm not having that.

I drink it quite regularly, not that that's any recommendation. I don't drink it in a brown paper bag though.

The trick is never ever drink more than two cans.

Try it again, but like I say 2 cans is more than enough. I find that as I've got older I can't seem to drink the volume I used to so a can of brew is just enough to relax without having to drink 3 cans of normal beer.

We used to drink this when we kids, think it's something like 13%

I remember Gold Label well from my childhood.

My mates mum was an Alkie so we used to nick her stash and she never said a word as that would mean my mate's Dad would find out and that would spell more trouble for her than us :? .

I like to think we were helping her ;) (blush)

When I was at school my mates dad used to smash through Gold Label like it was going out of fashion (which I suppose it was in a sense)

When i was in my early 20s I used to drink in the late, lamented Pen and Wig where I frequently used to have a pint of Lowenbrau and a bottle of K cider....neck half the beer and top up with the cider. I used to drink pints of the stuff.....no wonder I'm so fecked up now! :D

Lowenbrau.....I remember that

Tenants snake bite made with white lightening was responsible for a hole in my bedroom carpet , or maybe it was the Pernod and black that caused the damage

We used to kid ourselves that the Strongbow we bought (slightly illegally) was really strong stuff when we were early teens, Used to love a pint or two of Abbot, but ruined that when I went for the gallon tee shirt one evening, got very messy very fast as I recall (not very clearly though).

Pernod and black brings back some memories, a girl I knew got hammered on that and threw up, it looked like congealed blood on the carpet, but stunk of sick and aniseed. Classy.

I honestly have no idea what we used to drink....the odd bottle of NBA I suppose....that's a given - but though I like it, Newky always makes me sleepy.

Tried snakebites and liked them for a while, but too sweet.
Whatever the local pub had on draft I reckon??

I remeber 20/20 mad dog, Thunderbirds red, skol 1080 and some mental pint called a green monster which was a pint of snake bite with a couple of shots in it but can't remember which shots. Mental looking back what we used to do as kids.

When we young we would drink barley wine and cider, it was a really cloudy mixture but 3 pints of it and you could take on the world lol
