I've seen a video of a zx10r with a turbo. The rider could barely open the throttle

It doesn't have to be new to be insane... Griff from Aprilia Performance has got a tuned RSV gen 1 with NOS :S (fubar)

I think there comes a point when unless you have the latest electronic aids to help tame it then more power becomes a liability on the road and probably on track too for the ordinary rider.
