Me and this total stranger were poring over the fantastic engineering on this. he races TZR Yamaha 2-strokes somewhere. We then enlightened the two Suzuki promo girls in the next photo, just how much some of the bits on this cost. they were totally gobsmacked and didn't understand why when the GSXR next to it, looked much nicer in their eyes.

Great photos, ta very much for posting them.

That R1 is sweet looking.

Thanks for asking about the Tracer. That's a good price. Did you have a look at the bike in any detail?

Yes i did. I was very impressed with the new Yamahas. They seem to have thought about making something a little different and also good to ride.

The finish was pretty good regardless of the fact they are keenly priced. The only thing that didn't grab me on the Tracer was the dash/clocks which were rectangular but i guess they are functional rather than anything else.

They do seem to have gone for a practical look with the dash.

The only issue I've heard of with the MT-09 is the cheap rear suspension.

Thank you for looking at them :)

Did you have a sit? What did you think of quality? What prices did they quote?

Yes i did, Cookie. Its a bike would a nice feel to it.

That colour scheme isn't as bad in the flesh. Its supposed to be a good wheelie bike too.

Kwacky, those black panels on the Tracer bodywork are a satin carbon effect but done in a decent way. I hate fake carbon but it was very hard to tell it wasn't carbon. Only the reverse side of the panel gave it away.

I booked myself in with i2i Motorcycle academy training next spring in York. Two days training for £130 seemed top value to me as i have heard very good things about the i2i Academy. He works on the physics and the mind just as much as the bike skills.

I went today ..

Was really impressed with the R1 it looks even better in the flesh i thought. Had a quick sit on it and feels like you are perched on it not as extreme as the 899 or the aprilia.

Disappointed with the honda being hidden away like it was missed it the first time round but when you see the moto gp bike and it together they are very similar.

The Hr2 kwaka looks fugly but who cares its sounds awesome

Bought some new boots tcx rs2's :-) felt like slippers compared to my sidi's

I do like all the engineering on the kwak but I'm not sure it works as a whole. I dunno.

Have to say the noise of it on the dyno didn't seem anything special to me.

Its nice but not that different or noisy to any other IL4 with a straight through exhaust, i suspect.

I suspect it makes a better noise out in the open with the full air ram being employed

hmm well i have heard iline 4s with no exhausts on and messed around with plenty of different exhausts on bikes in my time and none sounded like that today.

no exhaust is obscenely loud and not nice even a exhaust with a bad can ie no baffling is too loud.

there was a lovely over run as only kwaks can make i was listening for a supercharger whine but could not seem to hear one over the dyno its self.

i liked it but i am a bit strange (lol)

Of the top of my head I would suggest the following

They want racing success
The supersport class is less competitive and a lot cheaper than Superbike
A larger machine, would detract from sales of the 675

But this is purely speculation
