You know what I mean, with all the talk of these new bikes with 200 plus bhp....lol. Seems almost pedestrianKwacky wrote:"It's only 160bhp"
I don't know how you cope.

Re: Which new litre+ bike would you have?
So if nothing else Honda seem to have trumped the competition for attention at the shows. Very clever IMO as no update to the Blade and the RCV hasn't even been confirmed as going into production and everyone is looking at the RCV instead of R1, 1299, H2R etc...
They haven't just trumped them a small amount either. Instead of bringing a gun to a knife fight they have brought a 2 ton nuclear missile to a knife fight

Really?
Most of the talk on facebook and the forums I use is about the looks of the new R1.

To add a little to what Monty said, the most visually appealing bike on the list has to be the Panigale for me. I know the RCV is rarer, has more features, etc., but if I had the money to buy one of those bikes, I'd buy the one that intrigues my soul.

Really mixed. Some have likened it to the Fiat Multipla
Others like it depending on the colour scheme.
Either way it's got a reaction.

I know where you are coming from Mac and Monty.
I never tire of looking at my 748 and every ride feels like an event rather than just a bike ride. The 899 felt the same to me.
That Honda is very very special (probably) but not quite sure i would want that in my garage without my own security team too. i would imagine the insurance small print would be very precise about where it can and can't be left.

Do you really think insurance will be so specific on an RCV Duke that's something I really hadn't considered.

LOL it's not ugly, it just doesn't give me the thickening!Kwacky wrote:I can't believe Monty called my bike ugly
To be honest though it's almost certainly the better bike for what I do, so I'm not ruling it out.

I'm guessing a bit, Blade.Blade wrote:Do you really think insurance will be so specific on an RCV Duke that's something I really hadn't considered.
However, Ducati Insurance are the only company who will insure a Desmosedici in the UK and the general theme on the Ducati forum is that the cost is £1500 upwards, most paying around £2k+ per annum.
I've asked a question with the owners to see if they have restrictions on their policies. I'll let you know what they say.

I have just ran a few quotes on a comparison website and ended up shocked and disappointed
Superleggra valued at £54000 is £7182 fully comp
Desomsedici valued at £40000 is £7182 fully comp

I think that's a way of saying we don't want that business to be honest.

That's in a locked garage with no claims or convictions, 11 years NCB, Alarmed and sold secure chain and ground anchor too.

Re: Which new litre+ bike would you have?
I tried Ducati Insurance but they won't quote online, I have to ring them with the qoute reference. I guess this is so we can have a chat and they obtain information to aid them in making a decision on how much they can fleece by.

It's not. It's because it's a collectors item so you are likely to be targeted by thieves who know what they're doing.D6 wrote:I guess its the fact that it's extremely hard to replace and parts will cost a fortune.

A tracker would be a must-have with any special bike.
I know they are not completely foolproof but at least you would have felt that you had done everything you could,

Is being targeted a genuine threat ?
How often does this kind of thing happy ? I assume rare as never really hear of it but that's just a guess.
