Toy Car Collection.

Post by D41 »

I sold my collection....some were pretty decent, and some I'd had since I was a small child.....but the guy I sold them too is a solid Irish bloke, and has bought them to keep, not to move on....I get first dibs if he decides to sell.
I got $500 for them.....a fair price, but not a killing....but I'm glad someone else will get to enjoy them.

I've got a massive collection of comics stashed away. Got to be worth at least £5k. I can't be arsed to sell them.

I would. I don't keep anything I don't use etc. especially if it's worth ££.

Saying that, it'll probably be worth a lot more in 10 or 20 years time.

Don't they deteriorate over time unless stored correctly?

Yep, They're in special bags and then stgored in boxes which are kept in the dark.

Prices for them fluctuate depending on the usual market factors. A new film for a character can trigger an increase, an artist or writer becoming popular, the usual stuff.

Mostly Batman stuff. All of the Dark Night originals and various mini series. Lots of independent stuff as well that later became films so they've got some value. The Mask comic should have been made into an adult film, not the Jim Carey version. The comic is very very violent with loads of black humour.

Hmm.....I apparently dropped a couple of good ones....OK several - it was a nice collection....but like I say, the guy is a solid bloke....he realizes what he has and has offered them back....I'm frankly non-plussed. but the wife is all into it.

A few months back someone put the first Superman comic ( graded 9/10 I think) on a $1 auction on eBay.

Ended up with the piffling amount or $3.2 MILLION (envy)

Dig your comics out Kwacky ;)
