Hi guys

Ive got a massive wobble coming from the front end everything is tight nothing has been changed

any ideas where it could be coming from?

it starts at about 30mph stops at 70+mph

Vibration or weave?

Have you checked bearings (wheel and head stock) discs, tyre pressure....

Check to see if you've lost a wheel weight.

Sounds like a tyre issue to me. Get your front wheel checked for balance.

Does it get worse as you go faster?

Firstly is that vid you? Please tell me it's not. No Gloves - shorts !!

I would say that is either a bad tyre - wheel balanced badly or lost weight - wheel bearing issue.

Jesus think I'd be scared of riding when it's that bad!

check the headstock bearings are tight and not worn

its fine up to 30ish mph stays the same up to 60ish then stops gunna check it hasn't lost any weights and the bearings are good

Wheel balance has to be a prime suspect for those symptoms Chris, but bear in mind that there can be other factors that create the imbalance other than just weights.

Agree with others start with basics and check wheel balance, tyre and head bearings.

Can't be wheel balance as it wouldn't stop as you go faster. It would get worse and worse as speed increased.

Not sure what it is though, trying to think when I saw something similar as its ringing a bell

ill take the wheel off and go and get the balance checked asap, it hasn't lost any weights, haven't hit anything to buckle the wheel it was fine then suddenly it wobbles

Not disagreeing at all Monty as I tend to agree but at work when we are spinning up rotating machinery its some times in hi alarm for vibration and if we speed it up the vibration reduces and this is after we have already driven through the critical speed zones.

Could it be same with wheel balance ? You know a lot more than me on this subject and are better technically so was hoping you could answer as I m not sure what actual process is happening.

dunno if it makes any difference but it used to just be 50mph till 60mph that is would do it but now it starts as low as 30mph

That sounds like something is loose or working loose rather than a wheel weight falling off. But I'm guessing. Get it to a mechanic ASAP.

LOL I know dick all. I did once however fit some front wheel weights 180 degrees out and then went for a spin down the M25. Lost two fillings.

If it starts and stops between 2 points its frequent based, I'm thinking irregular tyre wear. What are the tyres like Chris?

tyres are almost new probs 500miles old

Exactly why I thought weights first Blade. All large rotational equipment I've worked on has had a critical speed for unbalance, plus I've had cars with a wheel shimmy that is only in a specific speed range and it always turned out to be wheel balance.

But not to say if something was wildly unbalanced it wouldn't do what Monty suggests.
