Now the clocks have gone back it's time to get used to riding in the dark again. It's not something I've done for a while. Strange how you drop into it.

i used to love riding in the dark, not commuting but more a for fun ride.

This. Also, I think headlights are so bloody bright now I'm constantly dazzled if there are other vehicles about. The worst I find, driving an older car and when I have a more modern car behind me, their headlights cast a shadow of my car in my own headlight light beam. I'm pretty sure that normal running lights are about as strong, if not stronger than high beam was when I started driving.

hmmm night riding brings back memories of going to show my mate my new enduro bike. I spent a little to much time there and had to ride back in the dark with tinted goggles on. On the way home on the a1 the bike started to randomly cut out and there was no battery so no running engine no lights. Pulled off the A1 and the bike never missed a beat on the way home it must not have liked that road.

I agree about the bright lights. Some of the LEDs now are blinding, front and rear. There's no need for it.

On a bike with decent headlights its not so bad. Bright car headlights are a pain, with people forgetting to dip their headlights until tey are practically past you.

Funnily enough I used to really enjoy riding the A10 from Cambridge to Ely late at night, only really strange as it was bloody awful to ride during the day.

Yep I am playing "dodge the pothole" at night. It's a great game, as you now only get a few metres before spotting them.

Never really had to do and night time riding before but me and Bratty did about an hour at motorways speeds in Belgium this year and its definitely a skill.

I used to go out at night and ride around Birmingham, absolutely loved it, very little on the roads and an eerie feel to it. The only time I did enjoy riding round Birmingham tbh.

Go out at night round here and deer jump out at you . Might not try that on a bike.

I used to ride quite regularly at night/early morning, mainly going to and from work. The only time it fazed me was when it was coupled with fog or rain. Car headlights with a rain laden visor really suxs.

Agreed again with the headlights. Yesterday a BMW was following me and in no word of a lie I could of turned my headlights off as I could see more from his headlights than mine!
Used to love riding and driving at night a lot less busy and less coppers. When I would drive to Aber I would drive through the night and coming back would be no different. However now I hate it. I'm almost scared of it because everyone's headlights are so bright it blinds you from what is in front of you. I try to stay to day time driving as much as possible to be honest

Stick some proper bi-xenons on your bike. Blinds all the cars then
