So just over a week after the accident the wife and me are getting inundated with text offers to go and get £3000+ in compensation for the accident she had. Where and how do they get this information?

I think yours or the other party's insurance company sell it to a sister or partner company who deal with the claim. They get more work / money for their partner company and somebodys premium goes up so a win win for the thieving insurance companys.

Insurance companies
Recovery companies

They all get paid for the information. Or they used to.

Should be some sort of law against this. Your information used to be private now anyone can get hold of it! I wonder how many people take up these offers and wonder if they win!?

The farcical thing Ross is that it's very hard to get peoples' data. I have to jump through all sorts of hoops to get information or documents. It's a struggle even when I've got a sign form of consent.

Actually that's a great platform for a politician to go for, making people's info actually private again, having said that there's way too many vested interests donating to political parties to allow that to happen.

I think the RAC passed on my info after my incident with the "pebble". It must have been them, as I did not go through anyone else, but they deny it.
I had one number call me 3 times a day. I checked the number on line and discovered it was a bunch of ambulance chasers. I put it on the number blocker, and they still called me (the number blocker still registers the number).
I've dealt with others who have effectively told me I was lying about there being no accident (great sales technique).
This basically amounts to harassment, it pisses me off.

thats why i have always had a family/house spare pay as you go mobile phone, so you can give whoever that number and bin the sim card when all real business has been completed.
